★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for a family big birthday & while it was nice we had pre-ordered food as per Wigram hotel request) long story short the youngest guests (under 5 years old) had to wait for their food the longest as they just forgot to cook it! Add to that a $27 blue cod meal which had 2 small pieces of fish & hardly any chips, the kids meals came with twice the amount of chips.
Overall I wouldn't say terrible but I wouldn't say value for money in my opinion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I wasn't expecting to get more than what I've paid. I was the 1st customer on their grand opening yesterday under a new owner and everything was excellent. The food is good, excellent customer service and a nice and cozy room. I would highly recomend this to a friend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Coming through Christchurch from ashburton we were desperate for a hotel, it was getting late and the road conditions were horrible.
Nobody was taking guests. Until we called the Wigram hotel.
Not only did they await our arrival for the night, we were met with some great customer service from the front staff with a new guy on training.
We were blown away by how professional and great they were, a little bit awkward but that's expected when training.
They went out of there way to set us up a room, gave us a call to ask if we needed anything further and if it was up to our standards!
This hotel was beautiful, a classic feeling with a modern twist, we loved the history behind it! Our rooms were modern and very much worth the price. Clean and perfect.
Well worth stopping through, I believe the Wigram hotel has new owners now and they are doing a superb job.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The exterior appearance may look old and tired. But do not get fooled by its heritage status. The interior of its rooms is a beautiful ensemble of the tradition and modern. You can for sure sleep like a baby in their cozy bed with light but warm duvet which wraps you soft. Try it and you will absolutely enjoy the stay.
