β β β β β It has character, strange vibes, nets on the windows, and the single greatest showers you will ever encounter in any form of accommodation. Yes, there's quite a few extra charges, but they are all signed up. Don't come expecting a free lunch, this is Haast, miles from anywhere. It's better than a tent, the owner has some interesting stories, the local pub is great and hey, Haast. I've stayed there many times, and the bathrooms and kitchen are clean. Bring your boots, a smile, and expectations relevant to the area rather than Queenstown.

β β β β β Basic accommodation but very clean and tidy. A great location, very close to the main tourist attractions of Franz Josef. There are heaps of walking spots nearby if you're in to the outdoors. A restaurant/bar on site serving delicious food and great drinks specials. There's also lots of bars/cafes within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

β β β β β Fantastic, friendly service. Very accomodating for a last minute booking! Make sure to book direct to help out local business βΊοΈ Large, and very clean room. TV and heating. Kitchen nice and clean.
Great location to local pub! Good food and drinks on tap here.

β β β β β Clean and comfortable but nothing worked. Had to boil jug in bathroom, TV didn't work, internet hopeless. Expected a better deal for price paid for studio room. Not a good look for NZ given the tourist drought. Kiwis deserve better. We are trying to support our empty motels. Three empty in Haast. We chose wrong one.

β β β β β The owners are absolutely lovely. We were shown two different rooms and decided on the backpacker side. The room was spotless. The courtyard was a beautiful place to enjoy a cup of tea at night away from the bugs. Upon check in we were offered bicycles free of charge and pointed towards a gravel trail in the bush that lead us to a beach. We were even offered bug spray before riding off. Canβt say enough great things. Would certainly stay again.

β β β β β Stayed here a number of nights while down tramping between Haast and Fox. The hosts were fantastic and went out of their way for us, stored bags, let's us use their personal washing line etc. The place was very clean and tidy and the beds comfy. Would stay there again for sure!

β β β β β If you're planning to getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, Haast is definitely the place to be.
The place is not modern which is only fitting for the area which gave it its charm. Lots of space for activities which is good if you have little ones. Shared space is good too.
All the complaints about the internet not being as fast as it is in the city but what do you expect in a remote location like Haast?
There were extra charges for some of the services but it was understandable given that their room rates were comparably cheaper than the other accommodations in the area.
Place is run by a lovely couple. They were very accommodating and warm.
The location is perfect as it was close to the shops and pub and everything you may need.
All in all, I will stay again and 100% recommend.
