★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful display of healthy, colourful, plants. Fabulous variety
of textures, patterns, foliage and form. A real credit to the creators. Well done and thank you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favourite places. The Winter Gardens is magical all year round. The floral display changes with the season or special calendar event. The Christmas display is always fabulous. It is such a joy to wander along the pathways, past the wishing well, the goldfish pond, the tunnel, the fountains and other water features. And all this under cover; great for a rainy or cloudy day, especially if you pop into the cafe next door. The outdoor garden has lots of seating, a fern grove, art installations and are immaculate. The bird song is delightful! The Aviary, Playground and Bowl are a must see too plus the walk around Virginia Lake. A great place to stop for a rest while on State Highway 3 or for locals to enjoy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful, peaceful. Kids loved it all. Plenty to see and do. Great way to spend a few hours and enjoy a picnic lunch. Very clean facilities as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loveeeeeeee the winter gardens. I grew up in Wanganui then moved away, but I always visit the winter gardens when I go back visiting.
The plants are always in great shape and inspiringly displayed, and l love being able to take my children to it and watch them play in the tunnel like I used to as a child. Keep up the great work!!
Ps I also always love the FREE bird aviary, one cockatoo used to always say hello when I was a girl and one said hello to us this visit, maybe it's the same cockatoo?? Awesome experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gardens are nice. It's so big it wouldn't hurt to have better signposts around the trails . And very little to do for young kids , eg, no playground. Little wooden huts aren't super exciting . Not a lot of incentive to go with young kids as opposed to whats on offer at Hollard Gardens and Pukekura Park. It's mainly only 2 or 3 plant types, which is a shame as it could be made into so much more. Better as a nature trail for adults without kids
