9Round Albany - Albany

So I have only done my 7 day trial but I can't wait to get signed up and be part of the upcoming challenge. I love going to this place and I don't like gyms! You have your own space to work out, sweet tunes and the best best best part are the trainers. I have been there for ONLY my 7 day trail. I have come in 4 times during this time and they all remember my name. They are motivating without being army drill sergeants, they can be tough but have a laugh at the same time. It is honestly like having personal training but 9Round Albany has attracted a really awesome team that makes me feel pumped even though I am clearly the slowest and unfittest in their......but not for long ;-)

Extremely rude, inhumane and unfair person owning this so called gym. Talked down to me when I nicely asked if the overloud music could be turned down as I have a migraine. Discourteous, and defensive. Don't go there...there are many other lovely gyms around with a human running them ? AFTER THE RESPONSE, I had an issue more with the manner and attitude of the person I spoke to. I don't live there, I live in West Auckland, but I pity those who do.

Great trainers are always there to help out & diverse work outs each day! Doesn't take too much out of my day to get a good work out in with great vibes.

I have been involved with 9Round Albany since approx July 2020. As their Business Advisor I have been in awe of how they have managed the onslaught of COVID. Kelly and Dave are so passionate about their 9 Round Community (and larger community) and swung in to a FREE online platform for the first round of COVID in 2020 to keep members and non-members active. In the more recent lockdowns of 2021 they created outdoor boot-camps to assist with social distancing and allow all people to exercise. I work with many business owners who are greatly impacted. Dave and Kelly are truly inspirational in their care, their humility and their strength to put others first even when it meant they had '0' income. I am so proud of you both, your team and the greater heights you aiming for and are achieving. Keep soaring!

The best decision I have ever made was to join 9Round Albany!! I was interested in 9Round Albany initially because I wanted to lose weight and I found I enjoyed the group fitness experiences that I had done previously but 9Round also has the boxing & kickboxing aspect that interested me. I managed to drag my husband along as he had just been diagnosed with a heart condition and was also told by doctors and specialists he needed to drastically drop his weight in order to help with his condition. He has never been a fan of group fitness sessions and was keen on hitting the gym to do weights kind of guy. The first day of our trial was nerve racking - what were we getting ourselves into, would it be intimidating, what if I didn't know what to do or how to do it!!! From the moment we met the owner - Kelly - who greeted us when we walked in the front door, we were very quickly made to feel comfortable. Kelly explained the 9Round concept & values, asked us both about our experiences and goals, and discussed my Husbands health concerns. During our workout the trainers talked us through each exercise on the round and showed us how to do the exercise correctly - along with giving us the encouragement we needed to push through. After finishing our first workout, Kelly then spent the time with the both of us going through any questions we had and pricing and options of membership. We signed up and started the 9Round journey and quickly learnt that this wasn't just a gym, this was a community of members, staff and owners of amazing human beings that are supportive, want to get to know you and your goals, that inspire and motivate you each and every time you set foot in the gym! 9Round Albany also offer a 6 week challenge called the Release the Beast Challenge which was the best thing I have done in my life and totally recommend anyone giving it a go! 2 years ago we signed up at 9Round Albany and not only have we smashed our goals of losing weight (I lost 9 kilos and my Husband lost 15 kilos) we have changed our lives in so many other positive ways! Over the Covid lockdown periods (the many) with the restrictions on gyms being allowed to be open - the owners of 9Round Albany went above and beyond to keep us on track and provided us all with zoom sessions morning and evening every single day!! I couldn't imagine not starting my day now without a 9Rounds session and encourage anyone that's thinking about trying it out to come for a trial and have the same amazing experience I had!!!

Amazing workout - full body fitness w a boxing/kickboxing flavour. Love how the trainers got my back and push me to achieve my goals. Sessions are new every day keeping it fresh ?

Having loved this gym from the moment I walked through the doors, there was high energy and an awesome team! The concept is great and the workouts allowed me to reach my fitness goals like never before. However, after 2 years the cracks started to show…There started to be high staff turnover and seeing some of the best trainers disappear regularly changed the whole energy and quality of workouts in the gym. It became a little soulless and very evident there was something not quite right. The owners are arrogant and ignore emails, especially when there is money involved. Having been a long-standing member I have heard it all! The most common complaint is members concerns are not dealt with fairly and you don’t get a resolution unless you go to head office. There are some fairly unethical practices going on with this business and the more you hear the dodgier it gets. I feel it is only fair that anyone considering signing up is aware of this as they make it very hard to get out of your membership. Overall the 9round concept is great! I would just be very cautious to sign up to the Albany branch.

Kelly and the team have built an amazing, supportive community at the Albany gym, and they're only getting better! The coaches are super knowledgeable and always happy to see you and work with you! 9 Round is the first gym where I've seen the results I was looking for in my body from workouts.
