★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and close to Ponsonby and the city but unfortunately let down by poor housekeeping and noise. Dust on top of cupboards and shelves, towels that were so frayed that I got caught in them while drying myself, hairs on bathroom wall from previous occupiers and mould in shower. Fridge door was unable to be closed when I arrived as it had iced up so much. Also very noisy fridge (high pitched whine) and got woken up at 5:30 by rubbish collection and at 12:30am by other tenants walking along balcony on other side of building. I wrote 'clean me' in the dust on the shelf with the glassware on on my first day and it was still there when I left 5 days later. Also arrived back at the hotel one day to find I was missing my tea-towel and bench cloth and the maintenance door into my bedroom was left unlocked and open so anyone could wander into my room. Hope they fix these basic maintenance and house keeping issues before the place goes downhill as it's a real shame.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at the Abaco for 4nights whilst we were in Auckland. It's in a great location just outside of the city on a main road, Ponsonby Road, which has lots of bars and nice eateries in walking distance. Paddy, the manager, was really friendly and gave us some great advice for things to do and places to go. The rooms were perfect, we had a studio which was a bedroom with a small kitchen area attached, toaster and kettle and microwave, fridge and small freezer compartment with a tray of ice ready for our gins, tea and coffee selection, good air con and a large tv. Overall, great service, great location, great room, couldn't ask for more! Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rooms are cozy and consistently serviced. Amenities covered all our needs for a kitchen, and the hotel does laundry for a very reasonable price. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions for travelers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My best friend and I stayed overnight here in a premium suite and what we got was amazing for the money that we paid. It was my birthday weekend I really wanted lots of space, a big spa bathtub, a big bed etc etc. I'm amazed at how all of this (and more) was available and it quite literally costed half the price of the luxury hotels I was looking at just for access to these amenities alone.
It was a quick walk from Ponsonby Rd where there was anything you'd need. Takeaways, bars, restaurants and there was a beautiful view of the sky tower both from our room and on our walk.
I highly recommend this place. Amazing prices for Auckland, no hidden costs, excellent maintenance and cleanliness and quality. I'm very very happy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We're visiting from Australia. The location is quite good and rooms reasonably clean but dated. Unfortunately our stay here was anything but quiet. There were other guests partying until 2:00am, traffic noise and due to the very old design of the premises, you can hear all the noise and movements in the rooms around you. Don't stay here if you want a quiet and restful experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This would have to be one of the best places to stay in Auckland. Incredibly priced for what you get, especially for a motel and is better provisioned than most hotels. Very cool friendly and welcoming staff too. Couldn't recommend more highly! Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I always do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great time. Was an older design but has been renovated and now has reasonably modern furnishings, was very clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We we're there for 5 nights and it was serviced every day. Also, it was great to have free parking so close to the city centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything was good quality. Good free unlimited wifi. Very clean, nice kitchen. We had a room at the top with good views and the spa bath. The parking lot would be a bit tight for a large vehicle. Plenty of shops within walking distance.
