★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a perfect spot for us to spend a couple days escaping the city life in Christchurch. Whether you’re on a road trip between the west coast and the east coast of the South Island, or just visiting Arthur’s Pass, this is a great spot to base on your mountain adventure.
Big thanks to the owners/hosts, Fi and Pete, who are lovely people, fun to chat with, and full of tips to explore the area. The cottage/chalet was so cozy and cute. It felt so “at home” as if we were actually staying at a family cabin/batch/Air BNB, not a hotel or motel. Options of wood burning fireplaces or gas heater “fireplaces.” Beautiful views. Epic hikes/forest/waterfalls very close! Again, perfect location.
Highly recommend! Will be back ourselves.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrived with my mum and brother on the Tranzalpine hoping to spend one night, maybe do some walks, and hop on to Christchurch. Unfortunately, my brother tested positive for Covid while we were there. Pete and Fi were absolutely stellar. Nothing was too much trouble. They organised RATs and a big box of food in minutes, and were ready to organise anything else we needed. They didn't bat an eyelid. It was as if it was just another normal day. Oh, and the accommodation was fantastic too! Thanks again guys!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great stay at the Arthur's Pass Alpine Motel. If you need accomodation at Arthur's Pass, I would definitely recommend picking up the phone and giving Fi and Pete a call!
When we arrived, Fi was very welcoming and helpful, with advice on weather (a better source for forecasts plus some local knowledge) and what to do around the area.
The unit had nice artwork relating to the area, and were really cozy, with a heater in all three rooms (main room, bedroom and bathroom), as well as plenty of blankets for the beds. There was a good selection of cooking implements which was helpful as there are limited options for food in the village (although definitely worth a try!).
We also really enjoyed using their DVD library and watching a few movies in the evenings, and there was also a selection of books and boardgames you could borrow.
Overall, this was a great place to stay and look forward to when we can come back again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pete and Fiona have kept the place clean and tidy and very cozy. The room isn’t big but the comfort level is right up there. They are also very helpful with pointing out the local attractions. We would definitely stay again!
