★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are walk-in guests stayed at room 8 and its very horrible experience for me and my family. I think the owner/manager should consider the reviews of the guests because this is very important. Seriously the room is dirty, smells like it has never been clean. Cobwebs, dusts, toilet bowl still having poop on the sides , cutlery not clean properly, in my point of view being woking in hospitality industry this is so unacceptable, why you keep accepting guests when you cant even clean properly and to think the location of ascot vale motor lodge is in riccarton, such a competitive location. We stayed a few motels in riccarton they are all lovely place to stay. When i have my training in housekeeping the things i have learned is:
1. Make your guests comfortable
2. Clean thoroughly the toilet and bathroom
3. Make sure the beds dont have hairs.
4. Always make sure the cutlery is clean &shining
5. Dusts every furniture
6. Its a big NO NO NO to cobwebs.
Im not being rude here. Its just i dont want other families to experience what we've been through especially when you have kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The bed (used only one side of the pushed together singles), the position and the price was great. What let the room down was the far past it sofa in the living area that was just too student-flat spring-less to be used.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, this new management team is really nailing their job. So different to 5 years ago. The facilities are wonderful and the team is extraordinary. Very helpful in everything. WiFi was down but altered the team and it got back up and running in less than 5 minutes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The rooms have obviously been refurbished fairly recently, and were clean, light and nicely finished for this standard of hotel, the beds were awesome, as they were firm and comfortable, unlike so many motels, which tend to opt for cheap, uncomfortable overly soft beds, the towels were good quality, and the free shower products were appreciated, all of the staff and management were very helpful and friendly.
we would definitely recommend a stay here, and would come here again the next time we are in Christchurch
