Our extensive range of rental baby equipment includes infant capsules with bases, toddler seats, buggies, bassinets, cots, exersaucers, monitors, safety gates for doorways and so much more. We use well known brands of equipment such as Diono, Out’n’About, Baby Jogger, Britax, Graco, Evenflo, Maxi Cosi and Medela to ensure each and every item is well maintained. All hire equipment is cleaned to the highest standard and if needed, can be delivered to the airports, brought to the hospital if your baby has arrived early or delivered to your accommodation to be ready for your check in.
All baby equipment or other equipment used as rentals or for sale meets the New Zealand and Australian Safety Standard and a wide range of items also meet the European Safety Standard (EC44).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have since received a phone call from the store manager Lesley apologising first the lack of communication and to inform me that my account has been credited with the sun cover purchase amount. I appreciate Lesley taking the time to call me and leave a message.
The sun cover was great and the black out blind was a life saver. Our little one only likes to sleep in dark so it meant that she could get a good rest when were out and about. Having the sun cover for our trip to whakatane ensured that My baby was protected from the sun and gave me peace of mind. Again I appreciate that the store manager has apologised and adjusted their process to prevent this from happening again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I didn't have a good experience shopping here. I purchased a high priced item off shop floor, and had to chase to get the deal done. They had my money for days and when I went to pick up, it hadn't even been cleaned or made ready. They were going to dismantle it which I didn't want to have to do - some dimensions would have helped. I chanced going in early before they were "ready" and luckily got one of the more helpful staff who measured it and helped get it into the car with no hassles. She was great. However I still had to take a day off work to go and pick up a fundamental piece that hadn't been included. There was an offer of instructions for it but I never heard back. It needs some work to operate smoothly. I won't be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have had a couple of visits to baby in the move after hearing about their reputation but I must say I have been disappointed both times. Our first experience was buying a baby carrier. Although the staff member was helpful the store manager was rude when we asked if we got a discount on the Gemini carriers for being a parent centre member.
My next trip was much worse. It was a very hot sunny day and I wanted a sun cover for my pram (stroller). I had checked online and saw that baby on the move have universal sun covers so made the trip. On arrival I asked if they have any universal sun covers and the answer was no. I had to prompt them to offer to try a different brand on my pram to see if it fits. In the end I ordered and paid for the universal sun cover hoping it would be ready for our trip in 4 weeks time.
3-4 weeks passed and I had still heard nothing so I rang the store and was advised there was some confusion about my order. I asked “did you not think to ring me and check ?” They did not have the cover I ordered but had another generic one and I was advised the only difference is the price. I asked them to put one aside for me.
I returned to the store the following day and asked the look at the cover. The assistant brought out a sun cover that was perfect. I was ready to take it home but was then told by another staff member that it was the one I ordered but it was not for me, it was for another customer. She brought out the new genetic covers and it barely covered the pram. They told me they will have the one I ordered by the end of the week. As we were going away the following day I asked if they could ring the other customer and ask if they would be happy to wait until the end of the week as they may not need the cover ASAP. They did and I got the product I had originally ordered 3 to 4 weeks ago but no apology. I find the knowledge among staff is not evenly distributed and they are in need of some staff training. I do not like leaving bad reviews but I have been disappointed with their service . Being a new mum can be scary at times and it is good to feel supported when shopping for your baby. Farmers department on the other hand have been amazing and can it be faulted.

They even helped jigsaw 2 car seats into a rental vehicle for me! It’s great to know I can always get a professional to make sure my son’s seat is fitted correctly as he grows.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great branch of Baby on the Move. Rented car seat and had it fitted here. Really efficient and great advice given. Purchased a Boba wrap which they showed me how to wear in store with their dummy doll. Always really friendly and helpful and the staff seem to all be experienced mothers...which helps. Thank god for Baby on the move. Baby stuff is so expensive and they rent out so much of the important stuff for a reasonable price. Cheers guys

I always know the kids are safe and sound. They’re all so knowledgeable and always happy to help. Also have a wonderful range of products - highly recommend :) the only baby shop I go to!

They also installed the car seat for me which was amazing and gave helpful tips on what I needed to look for safety wise. Would definitely recommend!!
