★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid this pharmacy. Been there several times, the counter is always surrounded by people waiting for the medication, and there is a terribly long wait. They need twice as many pharmacists to serve all the customers

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I always go to the bargin chemist and have never had a problem with them until tonight. The moment we walk into the store the lady moved from behind the counter and she followed me and my sisters around as if we were gonna steel. Made me feel uncomfortable and actually made me cry cause I have never felt like that in another store. My sister went back in and asked them if there was a reason why they were following us around and all they said was "we were just doing our job" when we knew the reason was because we were big samoan women. Like I get it and there was no need for them to stand so close to us when they could've just watched us from a far and not make us feel so uncomfortable. Not everyone there is racist but the lady's who were working tonight are! Cause I know for sure that they weren't following around the other customers in store. The date is 13/04/22 and the time I went was 7.30

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So looking at the comments apparently this place is known for its racism and discrimination towards people of color!! I went today and one of the staff came to me and asked to take out what I put in my pocket when it was actually my phone!! She didn't even ask politely in case she was wrong but no she was utterly rude asking me to empty my pocket!! I felt so bad and I cried and all was she saying that "you don't need to feel offended I was just asking" but NO she wasn't just asking she accused me!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been to a lot of branches of Bargain Chemist in both the North and South Islands and I believe that the service in the Papanui branch is simply the best. The staff are always helpful and go the extra mile. And the manager, Bessie, is the most amazing, knowledgeable, efficient, and amazing person. She always gives me excellent advice and is knowledgeable about the various supplements. It's obvious that she trains her staff to serve with excellence. Bargain Chemist Papanui is my go-to pharmacy and I recommend it highly to friends!
