Bellars Motor Works - Rosedale
About Bellars Motor Works
Ken started his apprenticeship in Wellington working on Jaguar & Rolls Royce, and after a few years having worked his way up to a senior position within the company he decided it was time to head off to the UK in 1987. NZ Technicians were highly regarded & sought after in England at the time and he had the pick of a few positions but ended up employed by London’s Premier BMW Workshop – Cooper Bishopsgate. This was the beginning of many years spent learning much of what there is to know about BMW. Returning to NZ 9 years later he was employed by Jerry Clayton BMW where he quickly rose to the position of Workshop Foreman. After many years of working within Dealerships and becoming frustrated with how things worked Ken & wife Tania decided to take the plunge and run their own Independent BMW workshop. Using Ken’s extensive BMW knowledge & desire to offer great personal customer service at a fair price & Tania’s accounting & sales background they purchased Bellars Motor Works in August 2005 and haven’t looked back.

β β β β β TRUSTWORTHY! These guys have huge knowledge when it comes to BMW..without the ridiculous hourly rate associated with a BMW main dealer.

β β β β β Excellent BMW mechanics, possibily the best for BMW in Auckland. KEN and the Team have decades of experiences and they know what they are doing. Loan cars provides if needed. They are efficient and always finish the jobs on time. Handy location, closed to motorway exits and bus terminal. Don't empty your bank accounts by going to BMW dealers because you won't get personal services there. If your existing mechanics are giving you run around on your BMW repairs and charging you labour hours for their inexperiences, give Bellar a try. They open Monday to Fridays, drop off starts 730am in the mornings. Highly recommended.

β β β β β It's almost the end of 2021 and my engine light came on for NOX Sensors from the report from Yellow automotive service company (you know whom). The second time I went to to them to repair it, they asking for 1,695 dollars for one sensor. Good service, and help desk, but I'm very disappointed and stressed of over price and they didn't ask for insurance.
Now, I went to internet for the last time and I finally found a bimmer blog post about six years ago and I found a few mechanic shops specialize in BMW that close to my area and Bellars Motor Works quite far from my place but a love of my BMW. I called to this shop first to ask the price and told what happen and I spoke to Ken for the first time, friendly and generous guy (God father's for my car) but i ignored of negative reviews about admins, they are good, they are know what they're doing. Droped the car round afternoon, I have no choice to sit around the park and bus station until 4 due to level 3 restrictions. During that time, Ken called and explained everything, every details, why and what not, then he told me he will use my insurance to covered it, I mean without asking me that's so generous of him. He replaced the NOX Sensor(s) and he will repairs the Oxygen Sensor(s) as well in few weeks because the part from overseas.
Come down to the price is only 413 dollars and some cents. I mean, I'm in love with this place now and hope this shop will stay forever including Ken and staff too.
(I wish, I'd study mechanic and work there)
Big thank you to Bellars Motor Works and most adorable dog in the office. Now Ken knows me as NOX Sensor guy.
From readers thank you for read until the end.
And apology for my grammar if this made you confused.

β β β β β It's always stressful when your BMW has problems. I'm based in Rotorua but my daughter is based in Auckland so when she rings with an engine check light on and the car is hardly running my stress goes off the chart. But once again Bellars Moto Works has come to the rescue. Every one of the staff are a pleasure to deal with. And the being a technician myself I appreciate that the guys are proactive with their work practises. I rate these guys 10/10
Stress gone, car is fixed and daughter is back on the road - thanks guys appreciate the speedy repair and very reasonable charges.
