β β β β β They have a ridiculous system of making everyone cue to get their tickets printed even though you bought them online . Waited 20 min and nearly missed the start . The cinema was so so hot and no air coming in . Wasted opportunity as they play good films . Have vowed never to go back

β β β β β It was a hot Summer afternoon screening for latest 007 movie but was stifling inside ( no aircon). Apart from that it's a groovy old school cinema with reasonable price. Huge choc dip ice cream cone only $5

β β β β β It's not super modern, slick or really flash and it doesn't always run seamlessly - it's more homely, comfortable and caring.
AND they do excellent Things! ?
For example, in addition to running most of the main stream movies, they also host interesting Film Festivals such as the recent and well attended Italian Fest. They have their Silver Club for 'Seniors' like me, a movie nibbles and Bar spot served by smiling helpful people, a good Web presence and Hockey Pokey icecream. β€οΈ
Tucked away at the end of Queen Street in Birkenhead Point on the North Shore, this endearing Cinema is well worth many visits.
Update 4/06/22
Currently enjoying the comedies of the French Film Festival at the Bridgeway. None of the reclining seats that my bad back prefers and the screens are not large. .. but it's very 'comfy' and greatly assisted by caring staffers and tasty goodies.
Well worth a regular visit for genuinely interesting ?s. ?

β β β β β Love this theatre. It is not the closest theatre to me but it is my theatre of choice. Good size seats, good leg room. Not cavernous so has great atmosphere.

β β β β β Not my style to be a complainer - however I am so over coming to The Bridgeway to find they have "run out of ice cream" or have a limited selection - first world problems yes - and they roll their own ice cream ? Can you not pay your employees to work an hour longer to meet your customer's needs ? Look ahead perhaps at customer expectations? Care ? I am a local and this has been going on pre-covid - No its not ok to have " run out of ice cream" at 5.30pm on a Saturday night when there are two more sittings of the latest Blockbuster released worldwide the day before (Top Gun) because I can rely on this now being the norm. Disappointingly average and staff don't care - I happen to like to have an ice cream when I go to the movies - it is the whole point of actually "going" and having that experience rather than stay at home and watch the movie streaming - the theatres at The Bridgeway are either too hot or freezing - last night the heat was stifling as theatre was completely full - people were looking uncomfortably hot due to lack of ventilation - super covid spreader indeed - we will reluctantly no longer be coming here -THEY JUST DO NOT APPEAR TO CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS - only the money it would seem ... turn on the air conditioning - you get paid enough

β β β β β Excellent boutique cinema where a lot of foreign films are played. It has a relaxed atmosphere with a handy restaurant right next door. Better behaved audiences than the multiplexes too so phone use and talking is not a problem.
