★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tickets are a cheaper compared to Events Cinema, especially if you are a Cinebuzz Member. They have comfortable reclining chairs but could use some reupholstering.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love coming here as all the cinemas have reclining leather chairs. Would highly recommended getting Hoyts rewards as you get 25% off tickets and 10% off food and drink.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meh....below average setting, average cinemas & average service. Good news, if average is your thing, you won't be disappointed. Parking spaces in carpark lend itself to your vehicle being prone to getting dinged. Atmosphere in foyer is depressing. Some of the cinema's reclining seats were out of order. Made the mistake of buying coffee (flat white and mocha) and ended with cheapest watered down instant coffee we've ever had for $10. Sorry, but you need to lift your game, Hoyts Wairau.
At least the movie itself made the experience a little bit better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The theater was a great experience. We were a little confused when we showed up as there were signs saying we had to scan in and have someone check our vaccine passports and while we and another family stood St the door no one acknowledged us. The staff behind the counter tried not to make eye contact and no one greeted us or told us what to do. We waiting a little over 5 minutes until we finally just walked in to get our tickets and things and the staff didn't seem to stoked on us being there. It felt a little odd as it was early evening and we were only 10 minutes early for our movie.
That wasn't such a great feeling.

They do a very good deal for seniors very good price reduction on tickets.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our favorite local cinema to attend because of the comfortable lazyboy seating. Always receive fast and friendly service. Only gave stars as many of the more popular seats in the middle of the rows are quite worn and don't look the best but other than that, A+ venue for movie watching comfort and even better as a hoytes member.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well this review will be bitter sweet as I am aware Cinemas have suffered during Covid and need the business. Went to see The Batman the other night here, first time back at the pictures in years and I like Hoyts because of the reclining chairs. Me and my friend wanted a glass of bubbles but they couldn't serve due to the manager not having a license, if I had know we would have brought our own wink, wink. Then the seats we had booked would not recline so we tried 4 more and the same thing. Luckily it was not busy so we just sat wherever the seats worked. They didn't recline as much as I remember but we didn't want to keep moving as the movie was about to start. The seats looked very old and worn, sad. Then I wanted a choc top ice cream it's my favourite and a real treat for me. Nope, they didn't have that either. Had to buy a more expensive one that was not as nice. The movie was good so that was a bonus but sadly everything else was a let down and reminded me why we tend to stay at home and don't go out. I think I'll wait until they come out on DVD in future. $18 for a ticket is not cheap for me and I didn't feel like it was justified. Sad but true. Hoyts at Glenfield, a tragic disappointment.
