We've rented a Bay of Islands campervan for 5 weeks for a long holiday trip from Paihia to Christchurch. This was the 2nd time we booked Bay of Islands, since we were very satisfied with Rob&Nick's service on our first trip. This time it was even better. A very warm welcome in their beuatiful B&B, with a good meal and breakfast. But once again we were extremely surprised by their service: the hot water of our Campervan appeared to be out of order, and Rob drove two days to our campground to replace the Campervan by another. Without any questions or extra payments. I really can recommend Bay of Islands Campervans.

We have recently returned from a fantastic 4 week tour of both the North and South Islands of New Zealand in a Bay of Islands Explorer Campervan. We did a lot of research before deciding to hire a campervan from Bay of Islands Campervans. They may not be the cheapest but all things considered (all the extra additional charges that the other companies levy) then they are not that much more expensive than other hire companies. However what you do get is a much more personal service from start to finish. Rob & Nick helped with the initial planning of the itinerary and were always on hand if we needed them. We collected the campervan from Christchurch where the handover from Geoff was great. He explained everything about the campervan and even gave us directions to the supermarket for groceries. The campervan was comfortable, drove well and had everything we needed. On board wifi was great enabling us to keep in contact with family back home as well as planning our route, campsites and excursions. The campervan also had a mobile phone which enabled Rob & Nick to contact us on the first night to make sure everything was alright. They also contacted us when Cyclone Cook arrived to make sure we were safe and offered advice. At the end of our holiday we returned the campervan to Rob & Nick at their beautiful Baystay B&B in Pahia. That evening they took us for a lovely dinner in Pahia and the next morning they prepared breakfast for us before driving us to our hotel in Auckland CBD, which included a stop for coffee and cake along the way. New Zealand is a fantastic country and we feel that the best way to see it is in a campervan. We would love to come back and would have no hesitation in using Rob & Nick's Bay of Islands Campervans again. We highly recommend them. Hope to see you again sometime!

Until this year we were campervan virgins, but Bay of Islands Campervans were ideal for our first experience. We started planning our trip 18 months ago and were attracted to BOI not only because of their high-quality reviews but also because they only have vans for two people, so we weren’t going to lose space for things we’d never use. Over two months, we covered 6,000km, zig-zagging the length and breadth of NZ between Slope Point and Cape Reinga and just about everywhere in between. The van – we named her Ermintrude – was perfectly behaved, with no mechanical problems at all, and so easy to drive that we sometimes forgot she wasn’t a car. When we did have the odd problem or query, Rob and Nick were very responsive in helping us sort things out, even allowing us to change our drop off point without hesitation. Ermintrude came fully equipped with everything we could want, including on-board wi-fi, which we made full use of to plan our travels and to blog about them. The extra-long power cable was particularly useful as we didn’t have to worry too much about how we parked in our pitch each evening – unlike some of our neighbours! Having a fixed bed not only saves time but also gives you more options for lounging around. And with the TV, we could watch channel 1 at 6pm each evening to find out what was going on in the world and get the weather forecast for the next day. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend BOI to anyone wanting to tour New Zealand.

Thanks to Rob and Nick we have had a marvelous holiday in New Zealand. We rented a bay of island campervan as it looked very tempting on their website....AND we were not at all disappointed the campervans are very luxurious, we loved the Wifi on board. Moreover, Rob and Nick already gave us lots of hints and tips in order to make the best of our holidays.

Nick and Rob were very efficient upfront when we did the booking - responding quickly to emails and providing detailed information where necessary. This was our first motorhome trip and they were able to reassure us the Explorer would be fine for our needs and also easy to drive. The layout proved to be perfect - such a boon to have the fixed bed! We had been worried about stowing our suitcases but there was plenty of room in the locker for them as well as the BBQ etc. So all in all a great holiday and we would definitely recommend Bay of Islands Campervans.

From the outset we knew that we were going to be well looked after and this company has such a personal touch. The van (Explorer) was super clean and everything in it was great quality from the china mugs to the REAL GLASS wine glasses - and our very own WIFI router so we could stay in touch with family and friends the whole time. Rob and Nick are always there if you have a question and phone you on the first day to check that everything is in order and you are happy. During the 4 weeks Rob and Nick helped us sort out a few personal issues with lost property and nothing was too much trouble. The van itself performed really well on winding roads, and up steep gradients, and being automatic it was a dream to drive. The last night in New Zealand was just perfect as Rob and Nick cooked us supper and we had a lovely relaxing evening at their B and B before they drove us to the airport - very luxurious transport! We cannot recommend Bay of Islands Campervans enough and would certainly book with them again if we are lucky enough to visit their beautiful country once more. We have just had the most memorable, gorgeous & amazing 3 x weeks in New Zealand in a luxury Seeker Campervan. Bay of Islands Campervans with their high reviews was our choice of company to hire from. Throughout, Nick & Robb have been exceptional with their communication & professional advice, they don’t just treat you like a booking number-they treat you as if you are family & the holiday you are planning is just as important to them. Prior to arrival they at all times responded quickly to any query I had emailed & even assisted with our itinerary and gave their personal guidance. During our holiday we had contacted Nick & Rob with enquiries -both where fantastic & sorted us out instantly over the phone. We collected & returned our campervan from Christchurch and managed to travel just under 4000km in the 3 weeks. The Seeker was easy to drive, had fantastic fuel economy, vision was great & trust me-you will be saying “wow” all the time at the jaw dropping scenery, was extremely well fitted out & spotlessly clean. We never felt cold as the heating system is excellent, fixed bed is comfortable, the fridge/freezer is far larger than I expected, the BBQ was great, the awning was simple & set up in seconds, having wifi on board was brilliant & envied from other campervans & I initially had doubts about using the loo-it honestly was simple to empty & the blue chemical kept any odours away. The tourist radio was informative & it has a segment called “the kiwi lingo show” always a good laugh. Of all the other campervans on the roads –we definitely had “the perfect one”. The roads where a lot windier than what we expected & the Seeker manoeuvred beautifully, we shared the driving. If you are a couple that want an exceptional holiday experience with all the added luxury, then there is only 1 choice to having the best campervan & that is to book with Bay of Islands Campervans.

We rented a campervan (seeker model) from Nick & Rob to travel across NZ for 4 weeks. After comparing all kinds of campervan hires we opted for bay of islands campervans and we certainly do not regret this! We were looking for a campervan that had a fixed bed (in the back, not above the driver cabin) and the ability to shower in the vehicle without wetting the complete bathroom/toilet. The seeker model had everything we needed (although the bed was less comfortable than we had hoped for). At first bay of islands campervans looked quite expensive but when digging into the details we discovered that all other companies charge extra’s for things you assume to be basics (e.g. a camping chair set, GPS navigation). So if you add it all up the price point is not that different than the competition. The main difference however is in two things: - The quality/luxury of the camper we had was amazing (on many campsites we got compliments on vehicle from both tourists and locals). Everything was there, up to the tourist radio module, gasbbq set and very good GPS navigation. We connected the vehicles audio system via Bluetooth to play our spotify playlist from our the tablet. The on board wifi is really nice and very useful when planning your trip or contacting the home front. -The personal service provided was impressive and we really felt that we had someone to fall back on in case of questions or problems. Before the trip we had a call with Nick and went through our planned route, proving us with useful tips and advice. Upon arrival in Christchurch we picked up the camper and it was explained in detail by Geoff who really took his time for us. The camper contains an (emergency) cell phone and on the first day we had brief call with nick & rob to ensure we were all up & running and everything was ok. During our holiday we had a cyclone coming to new Zealand and received a warning message on the phone the day before to ensure we were safe and aware. We dropped off the camper in Pahia and stayed the last night in the B&B after which we got a personal ride to airport ensuring a timely drop off at the airport. Everything was perfectly arranged to last detail. Our holiday experience has been amazing and for a large part this due the contribution Nick & Rob and the hired campervan. We highly recommend them and wish them all the best with their company.
