WHO AM I?
Jill Southee - Independent Registered Celebrant
I am a positive, friendly and compassionate Wellington-based celebrant, where I live with Rowan, my husband. We have four children as well as two gorgeous grandchildren, plus a grand-dog who comes for regular sleepovers!
As a member of Celebrants Aotearoa, you can be assured of using a celebrant that belongs to a professional body who will consistently deliver a high level of professional & ethical service.
I am proud to hold a Certificate in Celebrant Studies from The Celebrant School as well as being validated to officiate registry weddings, at any Wellington location or my home/garden.
I pride myself on the relationship I build with everyone I work alongside, getting to know you; your likes and dislikes, your SOH and what makes you tick as a couple or family. I want to be present for you in moments of jubilation or grief and building a relationship with you to ensure your ceremony is genuine and memorable. I'm a good listener, attentive and open to your wants and needs.
I promise to dedicate myself to YOU, keeping a sense of calm, arriving well in advance before your ceremony. I always make whatever life event you are celebrating a sincere and meaningful occasion. When you work with me, you will find my style is professional, organised and empathetic. I am sincere, adaptable and you can trust that your story is delivered in a personal way, it's important we get it right.

- I like to read a good novel, walk and attend pilates classes
- I love working in my garden
- I like to cook, try new recipes and share the goodies with others

- I'm Chair of the Wellington/Wairarapa Branch, Celebrants Aotearoa
- I volunteer for Dress for Success and Good Bitches Baking
- I love to travel, when we can!
- I value my family and friends immensely and all that they bring to my life.

The first time we contacted her she was prompt in replying to our messages and booked in a meeting with us at her wonderful home. Our first meeting felt very welcoming and she made our vision for our Wedding her main focus. At no point did we feel pressured to do things a certain way, which is how we knew she was the perfect celebrant for us.
Jill was wonderful to work with. We are a very busy and relaxed couple, so we left some things to the last minute. Jill was organised, encouraging and patient and kept us on track during the lead up to our big day. She provided us with a draft version of our script among other things, which inspired us to create our perfect, intimate and memorable ceremony.
Thank you Jill for the wonderful, amazing experience you helped create. Your warm and supportive nature calmed our nerves and your delivery helped tell our story so beautifully.

From first contact Jill was easy to talk to listened to what we wanted and had great communication. We discussed how we wanted the ceremony to run, she drafted and sent through her script easily in advance so we could read over, become familiar and make adjustments. Jill also turned up 10 minutes early and talked to guests as we rushed around ensure all was ready to go..
