Been to the restaurant on Waitangi Day. Lovely food. Served nicely by the young boy. It could be 5 star but the wait time required to be worked on. Rest is good

Always happy with service and food malai soya chap best dish .They have very good deal for lunch $12.99 one curry naan ? and rice ? they have dinner deal too $14.99 .Economical and yum

No Authentic taste. Ordered 2 dishes. Paneer Butter Masala tasted burnt. Order 3 pepper chicken had way too much salt in it. Wouldn't recommend to visit this unless they change there chef.

We order our food twice one time We get the spicy food and second time we place on order and got the wrong food .when I call back for complaint of food .No body cares .Specially the lady manager .she is very unprofessional and rude. she doesn't even care .I guess it's waste of money to get food from chawla now . I guess if they want to retain their customers .they have to maintain food quality and specify staff attitude.

Worst indian restaurant , very unprofessional manager she don't have manners to talk.. only short turban guy he is quite decent otherwise whole staff is disgusting. No welcome, no smile on the face of manager she really need a customer service course. I took my guest for dinner and got insulted because of your food customer service. From my opinion go to takeaways in papatoetoe or go for kfc or mcd but never waste your money in chawalas. Complete waste of money????

A group of 5-6 of us have been going there in the evenings in these past 3 weeks for our dinner, drinks and meetings. I simply chose Chawlas Manukau because (1) Use to dine there many years ago and the food and service were OK then. (2).supporting locals is a good thing especially during these very tough times and (3). It was centre point for all four households to meet as we all came from different areas of South Auckland for our meetings. I'm saying all this because we, (my partner and I), ran a very successful fully licensed cafΓ© for 11 years with 240 seating's, a team of 19 staff and operating 7 days a week - with very happy and repetitive customers. They were both locals and from other regions making our establishment very popular and well maintained that very rarely did we have any complaints. (except of course from oppositions and haters).and, if anything, we are hugely missed since our business was closed 8 months ago due to a flood. Our group have dinned there on 29 April 2022, 30 April 2022, 04 May 2022, 14 May 2022 and lastly last night 17 May 2022 all via a booking made by myself via a phone call. From the first dinner meeting on the 29th April to last nights experience, I can tell you it has been nothing but disgraceful and downright unpleasant. At each dinner event, there were NEVER any goat curry, NO vindaloo, NO raita and the excuses were the same each time. They were always out of stock, delivery didn't come and so on. Many of the dishes we ordered weren't available (same excuse) and 5-6 meals comes with one bowl of rice with us having to ask where's the rest were. Upon arrival, we would sit and wait for long periods at a time and sometimes for half an hour... and wait. And, despite not being busy at all, they (the staff), never come around to greet and ask if we'd like drinks, starters etc. Then there's the music. Very loud and the wrong type for an evening dinner setting. On 4 separate occasions we've had to ask them politely to turn it down, only for the staff to turn it back up after 5-10 minutes. Once the meals are served, never do the staff return to ask if all is Ok and, are the meals correct etc. Asking for another beverage means having to go to the counter to get these top-ups and then you'd wait 10-15 minutes and once you get your drinks and notice there's no ice for your can of coke or lemonade usually means waiting another 5-10 minutes before the ice or glass of ice arrives. Prior the meals arriving - We'd be given starter plates when we didn't order starters, THEN we'd be given hot dinner plates assuming our meals are to follow a minute or two later only for the meals to arrive at our table 10-15 minutes later when the plates have NOW gone cold. And, all this without a word of apology nor explanation from manager or staff as to what happened and why? IN CONCLUSION - Clearly, this business has no place in the hospitality industry because you people DO NOT KNOW NOR CARE OF THE MEANING "HOSPITALITY." and despite being VERY patient and hoping for some changes in these recent 5 visits (in these past 2 weeks), sadly we will take our business elsewhere. . =

Came here last week to have lunch (saw sign lunch deals). Went in, sat and waited to be given the menu, had another couple also waiting.. one staff was doing something at the counter. 5 minutes later, still wasn't approach by the staff.. the couple left as probably gone tired of waiting. I went up to the counter asked if they were open, was told they just opened few minutes ago and it'll take them some time to prepare food.. time was 12:00, opening hours supposed to be 11:30... Obviously, I left... Don't know if these guys are still wanting to do business.. but if you want to be in a hospitality business, maybe offer some hospitality and actually open on time??? If you opened late, maybe let customers know... ?‍♂️
