Great facility. Good for small to medium size groups. Safe 2 minutes walk to beach through walkway under highway. 4 square 1 minute up the road. Lots of sites and places to visit. The whaling museum 13 minute away.

Held a family reunion there. Excellent facilities. All sleeping quarters were clean and conveniently close to the kitchen and main hall. Activities for kids were great, though no flying fox as advertised :-( Easy and safe access to the beach and supermarket just across the road. Hosts were friendly and responsive.

Used to love coming to this camp but the facility seems to always have cobwebs and rubbish around camp when we arrive that we then have to clean before we leave. Beautiful place but the camp management aren’t friendly at all. The team that ran the camp grounds a few years ago earlier were better

I used to love it here until many restrictions were put in place. I’m not sure if it applies to all groups or just ours. We visit here every year & it seems like new restrictions are added every time. It was hard to enjoy our evenings as we would have to keep noise levels down by 10pm. Can you imagine a group of Māori & Pacific Islanders being quiet by 10pm? NEITHER. At the end of a long day we like to end it off with some fellowship. However, we were unable to do this without walking on egg shells due to the noise restriction. If we wanted to be quiet by 10pm then we would have just stayed home. It felt like we came to cater for the owner & his family rather than them cater for US. We left this place CLEANER than what it looked like when we first arrived. Place is run down wirh cobwebs everywhere. You’d think fans would be provided in the cabins considering the time of year & how hot it is + the amount of campers in the cabins but no, nothing. I have a few other concerns but those were my main ones. Won’t be coming back here again.
