★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for dinner with my partner. We had the ravioli and the veal. Asked what wine they would recommend with it and were told the house red.
The food was okay although not great for the price. The wine was disgusting and tasted like sub $10 plonk. As I went just before Christmas and, based on others reviews, I can only assume that they had holiday staff in. Food and service were mediocre, wine was horrid. Would probably give 2.5 stars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome ambience, great friendly staff, and awesome attentive service. Our food choices though fell short of expectations. My carbonara was drier than I wanted and the seasonal veggies were a little over cooked. The kids meals were great for our little ones and they certainly enjoyed them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So good..! The food was tasty, and the staff were friendly. We loved the accordion player.
We had a great time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have called a number of times to see whether my family of five can be squeezed in for an early meal. As a busy family we often don’t have the luxury of booking weeks ahead and I like to support local.
Each time I’m rudely told “don’t you think you’ve left it too late “mate” This chap has said the same, in the same manner, to my wife?
My kids like the food and I’d like to support local business, but I don’t like being told off by the rude Maître.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oh, Cosa… the only reason I can give you two stars is because you used to be my favourite restaurant. I don’t know if our experience earlier this week was an off day or if new staff/management are to blame, but the entire dinner was honestly one of the weirdest experiences I’ve had at a restaurant.
The wait staff who served us seemed confused with a 15 minute wait before we even had our order taken in a near empty restaurant. From being asked “what’s that” when we ordered the arancini to watching, bemused, as other tables were seated and had their entire meals before ours were delivered, the strangeness probably peaked when the food finally arrived and I asked for a dip to accompany the arancini and the server said “sure”, before completely disappearing while we sat and waited.
Ten minutes later the server returned, saying “are you ready for dessert menus” despite our food being untouched, and when we said no thanks, we were still waiting on the dip, she said “oh, yeah. We don’t do that”.
So we tucked into our meal, which in and of itself was a heartbreaking disappointment- both the pizza and the risotto were positively swimming in grease, leaving both of us feeling queasy before we’d finished the food.
The confusing, comedic and disastrous evening was polished off when my partner asked to have the rest of his pizza boxed up, hoping we could salvage it at home. The server returned with a fist full of paper bags… confusing? Strange? But we rolled with it.
Sadly, the pizza was too oily to salvage. Photo of random paper bag packaged pizza attached- the grease turned the paper into a window pane.
I really hope you return to the quality of food and staff that made you my favourite restaurant, cosa.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dined here last Sunday. We were seated outside the kitchen area which was so noisy we had to shout to hear each other. Two of us ordered the duck which was totally inedible! It could have been the leather from someone’s shoe! The staff did not ask if we were enjoying our meals and they must have known. As my plate was returned hardly touched. We dine out a lot and this was the worst meal I have had in years!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome Italian food & experience. Great staff & often have a guy at the entrance playing the Italian piano accordion to add to the authentic feel. Always a good vibe, welcoming & attentive staff with great tasting food. The specials board usually has some gems on it too. Our go to Italian restaurant for a romantic night for 2, or a gathering of friends. Thoroughly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've always loved this restaurant, the location and the food, whether it be with my partner or with the family. Love listening to the old guy playing the accordion at the entrance. I had the salmon and zucchini pasta, which I wasn't blown away with. Thought it strange having big chunks of zucchini in pasta. The garlic pizza bread was yum and my friend had the beef pasta, which she enjoyed. The desserts were nice too, but not wow. The waitering staff were friendly but you could tell it wasn't their usual job. Then we found out the restaurant is closing. I was very surprised and saddened as it's my favourite Italian restaurant in Welington.
