About Craggy Range
Craggy Range produces a collection of iconic wines from multiple regions in New Zealand. Owner Terry Peabody and his family pursued the single vineyard approach to winemaking, planting on green fields and bare land ensuring a focus on quality from the very beginning.
New Zealand, with its diversity of soils types, offered the perfect location to plant the vines. From the stony, warm soils of the Gimblett Gravels in Hawke’s Bay to the volcanic, clay soils of Te Muna Road in Martinborough these exceptional vineyards produce wines with amazing aromatics, purity and complexity.
The wines, produced for the Prestige and Family Collections are pure expressions of the unique terroir in which they were grown.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited on a summer’s day for a wine each and some snacks. Having showed vaccine pass the girl at the front recommended a wine tasting which we were keen for also. Went inside to see next staff person who asked what we were after. While answering she then cut us off and said “restaurant is over there but it’s fully booked” - we said that that’s fine we can just do the wine tasting - she literally sighed and said “ok there is an hour-long wait” and looked back at us like we had something to say. Exponentially pretentious. If you want some delicious wine served by friendly humans - visit Mission Estate Winery. They have really reasonably priced tastings - even give some souvenir glasses. I think the staff there must be better trained. We have even visited them super sweaty after a bike ride (unlike craggy where we were more appropriately dressed) and we’re treated with the same respect each time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to Craggy Range for the first time last Sunday with 7 girlfriends for my Birthday. WOW we did the shared menu and a couple of my friends did the wine match. We all enjoyed the food and wine. Can't wait to come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite simply the best meal we have had in New Zealand. Fantastic degustation with wines to match and really professional friendly staff. We couldn't fault the meal with all courses beautifully cooked and presented. Right up there with any fine dining experience we have had anywhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful winery, lovely staff, nice wine. The one big minus point was them not selling wine by the glass at the cellar door. so we had a $95 beautiful platter and no wine to enjoy with it, except if you were keen to pay twice for a bottle. Why?

It was amazing the food was excellent it was so delicious and they even made me a special menu due to my allergies. At the end they gave me birthday truffles with a candle. Thanks so much!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I visited this place on our 20th anniversary day last month. We chose Craggy range shared menu for lunch and surprised because of the service and quality. When we asked about the single menu to staff, he explained well about it and was very nice. We didn't think we could have this kind of well coordinated course menu. All ingredients of cuisines were very harmonious and very natural. We enjoyed the meal and were very happy all day thanks to satisfaction for the meal. After lunch, we moved to winery to have wine tasting. Frankly, we didn't know much about wine. But staff was very kind and he explained us about wines. It was great time as well. Specially thanks to Jack H at restaurant and Oscar at winery who served us with kind and smile. The staffs and Craggy range gave us unforgettable day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came for dinner here with my parents. We had the set menu with wine match. Was just beautiful. Very very tasty food with plenty of it, friendly helpful knowledgeable staff beautiful local produce. The views are beautiful up to Te Mata peak. I loved it will certainly visit again.
