★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely incredible. The shared lunch (degustation-esk) is incredibly priced! The food was just amazing and the service was top rate! Can’t decide which was our favourite and the wine pairing was perfect! When we commented on the beautiful day the waiter asked it we would like to be moved to an outdoor lounge area for dessert…. He then went and checked all the cushions were dry! So thoughtful! It was the perfect moment to sit in the winter sun. Would go back in a heart beat and recommend to all. These lucky locals have no idea of the value for money…. Us Aucklanders wish we lived closer!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing restaurant and food but the service at the accomodation is one star at best. On arrival we were asked to take our own bags to storeroom. When we went to collect our bags were told to take our own bags to our accomodation 500m away . This is not five star service- maybe one star . Expect nice food and wine but service standards- no idea. Get a new general manager with high service standards is my suggestion

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely lives up to it’s reputation. Make sure you book well in advance if you want to go for lunch, which one s the best time to go there, for the views and the beauty of the estate. We went for dinner and it was great - I think the best dining experiences is when you don’t have to think, so we went for the tasting menu with a wine match, very good value.
If you take the tasting menu with a wine match, your journey will start with a glass of Tattinger champagne and amuse bouche, with the rest of the tasting accompanied with Craggy Range wines. Food came out with no delay and service was informative but not intrusive. A lot of the ingredients are locally sourced, which means the menu is very seasonal and will provide a new experience if you visit again at a different time of the year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great venue and well paced courses. Went for the shared menu and that was absolutely the right choice. In particular the slow cook lamb shoulder was absolutely delicious. Also went with the wine pairing which was a great choice as they were very well matched. Staff were attentive but not intrusive made for a really memorable evening meal out especially given this was our 40th wedding anniversary.

Most importantly the food was divine. My partner and I both had the tasting menu and all tastes were great. Service was also excellent - Alex is an asset to the Craggy Range team. Restaurant itself is beautiful - highly recommend to anyone who enjoys fine food & service.

The food was delicious and well presented.
The service was well and efficient.
The wine list was good too.
We love all the dishes that we ordered.
Just make sure book a table while ahead even during COVID time.
