About Craters Mountain Bike Park
Wild and ancient, the river-run mountains of the Kaimanawa Forest Park have long called to adventurers and hunters. Wild horses, sika and red deer roam the park, and the mostly untouched native beech forests are alive with native birds (including kiwi), insects, the large indigenous snail Powelliphanta marchanti, and native bats.

A lot of the trails are very average and not that much fun but there are a few trails that are absolute gems such as tank stand down, coaster, Deb's track, Buzzard and Scragg's. As I said, this park has the ability to give you a good experience or a very average one.

the tracks are easy and given the fact you are in dense bush most of time you don't really get much of a sweet up.
the scenery is nice and everyone is considerate
w2k trail starts in whakaipo bay and is around 7 km to the head land loop
just use trail forks app to guide you along yr ride.
