★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After agonising over what to do about my ever reliable Shacklock Stove which appeared to have finally died, and refusing to accept that the time might've come for me to let it go, I just knew I had to try and get it fixed. And, as luck would have it, I came across two great referrals on the 'Neighbourly' site, for a company called Dewar Appliances.
So, with the day and time arranged, in walked Rhys with his tools in tow, to look at my Stove. And after discussing what the problem might be, I was also told, that as good as my old stove had been, it's age could deem it to be 'beyond repair'........for the mere fact, the necessary part required, might not be found easily......if at all.
However, being the consummate professional, with a 'can do' attitude, Rhys assured me that he would do what he could to find that part, and then he left. But having heard comments like this before from other trades people in the past, I also didn't hold much hope for his return.
Then, much to my surprise, and to his credit, Rhys rang me 3 days later, to say he had managed to find the part. And, on his return, not only did he fix my Stove in the quickest of time but he also restored my faith in being able to get an old appliance fixed. And for that, I am truly grateful because having initially given up all hope of getting it fixed, I have Rhys at Dewar Appliances to thank, because with his knowledge and commitment, he was able to resurrect my old Stove from the dead, and it's now working perfectly, just as it once did!!
So, if anyone reading this is contemplating dispensing with their old appliance, in the belief it cannot be fixed, I would urge them to call Dewar Applicances in the first instance, before racing off to purchase any new appliance, that could also prove to be an unnecessary, costly expense And, that's because Rhys and the team at Dewar Appliances will do whatever it takes to fix any appliance, by virtue of their utmost professionalism coupled with their knowledge, commitment and utmost willingness to help, which ultimately makes them the Masters of their trade, and I for one, can attest to that!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So my first dealings with Dewar were about 10 years ago. My washing machine clapped out and I was a bit stuck. Dewar sold me a 2nd hand washing machine that they put together out of two old ones. It was well priced and has been working well for 10+ years without a hitch. Love the environmental benefits from upcycled!
Just recently I need Dewar for Fisher & Paykel Dish Drawer repairs. My dishdrawers are ancient (20+ years old!) but I wanted to repair them rather than fill up the landfill with waste. I looked up the error online and it said it was unfixable so I have spent years with only one drawer working. Anyway, Lance had a go at repairing it to see if it was possible. He managed to fix the most recent error and had spare parts in his truck which meant he could get it going straight away. The other issue he couldn't fix so he came back and it's all working again. Because of Lance's expertise and determination to fix it, I have two working drawers again. To think I've spent years limping along with only one dishdrawer because I believed it was unfixable instead of calling Dewar, the experts, first!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tech arrived in time slot allocated. Friendly, knowledgeable. I especially liked how he took a photo of the problem and showed me (it was only accessible to him at the time). I feel confident that this is a company that does not do things for the sake of doing them. Lance made sure he knew what the problem was, came up with a (cheaper) solution for me, implemented and tested ok. Great service that I would definitely use again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have over the last few years dealt with Dewar appliance servicing on a few occasions and needed to do so once again in the last 2 weeks. My experience once again was excellent. Their speed of response, keeping to the visit time agreed, the skill level, politeness and the care and tidiness exercised in our home by their staff member Lance was again, in my opinion, superb. It is also my view that their pricing for the job was fair. Although, I hope the need to call on them again doesn’t arise in the near future, should it arise, then I will only be going back to Dewar Appliance servicing, because of my very favourable experience with them, for any issues relating to appliances in the kitchen, laundry etc. Thank you to Lance, Beverly and the team at Dewar. You are a pleasure to deal with.
