★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A legendary Photo-stop on any Helicopter Flight to Milford Sound This high alpine lake is frozen most of the winter and has a permanent Ice field at it's head. Named by Sir Erskine Bowmar after himself when he climbed up to it in the 1930s who also named the Bowmar Falls that Flow from the Lake.
