★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome! We did several trips with campervans and Escape Rentals was the best experience we had. Before picking up the car we had some questions and everything was answered fast. Then you pick up your campervan and they are just awesome. They introduced New Zealand travelling and the car in a real passionated and funny way to us. Plus they had tons of really helpful hints for travelling with the campervan and how to save some dollars. No other company we experienced so far was so into it and left us with such a good feeling at the start of our travels. So, highest points for customer service!
The campervan was our favorite too. We rented it for 2 months, so we probably got one of the newer models. The interior was pretty new and looked sweet. The car was self-contained, what we would recommend for New Zealand. It was an automatic and easy to drive. The "bed" is huge and it comes with 2 large blankets (which you will need when it gets cold) and 3 pillows. You will get a loooong power cable for powered campsites, heater and a desk lamp (inside the car there are 3 lamps at ceiling too). All the stuff you need for cooking and eating is there. The water pump is not electric but it was easy to use. The chilly bin was not the "coolest". So we needed to buy new ice nearly every second or third day and the water inside was annoying but we knew that its gonna be like that before, so it was okay. What we missed where mosquito nets or something at the rear windows. They need to be a bit open over night, so it doesnt get too wet inside but when you are sleeping inside a swarm of sandflys (which is not uncommon) thats not possible :D
We had a great time with our van in that stunning country! Thank you Escape Rentals for making it unforgettable!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved our van and experience so so much. Van was easy to drive, comfy to sleep in, simple to use. Plus, it was much prettier than the rest. Would definitely recommend for anyone travelling around New Zealand.
Feedback: a fridge would have been nice (our ice melted pretty quickly in the heat).
Tip: don’t pay extra for the “guarantee of an auto”, most vans are auto transmission so save yourself some money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We rent a campervan for 2 months in Christchurch and gave it back in Auckland (Jan.-March). Thanks to Terry Wakefield. He is such a good man and worker. Thanks for your help with the broken Window! You were very friendly and you helped us so quick and fast. I truly recommend renting a campervan with Escape campervan, they are good organized and everything worked out good. It is not travelling like in a Apollo/Britz/Maui campervan but we didn’t needed the “luxus” of them. For us it was the best choice we could do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For 14 days we have been traveling in our campervan and we simply loved it (both the campervan and the Southern Island!). The campervan is not too big, which is actually perfect for parking and on the road: It brings you everywhere! Make sure though that you have enough fuel/refuel frequently, because the van is not too fuel efficient ;-)).
The service in the depot was great: friendly people and good explanation about the van and how to ride on the roads in NZ.
What I also like about Escape Rentals is that you feel connected to others driving in one of the Escape Rental vans. You do not see one of the other vans too often, but if you do, you wave to one another and it feels a bit like you are part of the community.
Would choose Escape Campervan Rentals again in the future (Northern Island in the future?!)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Escape was fantastic, really good value for money with a good choice of campervans to choose from. The van was comfortable both in seat mode or bed mode and easy to convert between the two. Really nice little kitchen set up in the back and the vans were super easy to drive. Highly recomend for a roadtrip.

Great and friendly service and explanation of the van at depot. Easy to drive, and great insurance cover options. The esky was very convenient to fill with cold beers for those beautiful beach days! the bed was super comfortable aswell as being the most spacious van we have rented to date. The paint work on all the vans are amazing and really make your trip extra special, noticing another fellow escape van on the roads made us smile and we always waved to one another.
We met up with friends who had opted for different van companys and was jealous of our beauty and said they would be going with escape next time!
We loved it so much we extended our trip, Cant recommend escape anymore!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The van was big, modern and spacious with the most comfortable bed. We spent the night in a hostel and just wanted to get back in the van. It was a really handy lay out and good on petrol. Would definitely hire again!
