One family with a vision to bring excellent hospitality to Whanganui.
Lez started The Big Orange, one of Whanganui's original cafes. Since then, him and his wife Liana opened Mint Cafe in 2012, serving brunch, dinner and drinks with style, opposite Majestic Square.
In 2015, the old bank building on Victoria Avenue was available to rent, and thus FRANK. Bar was born, with premier dinner, drinks and cocktails served up until late. Though the Old Bank building served FRANK well, we have recently moved locations to The Old Post Office on Ridgway Street. We are still serving up delicious, seasonal fare and amazing cocktails - just from a brand new and gorgeously decorated address!

β β β β β Someone previously mentioned that the margaritas were weak, I can confirm that. I have had a lot of margaritas in my time but these... you could give to your grandkids. They should at least offer normal strength ones.

β β β β β Visiting from Wellington and didnt know what to expect food and drink wise in whanganui. All I can say is: great food, nice decor, fantastic cocktail list. The menu is great but there are limited options for vegetarians and alternative diets. Overall recommend this place highly and I think it would excel on anyones list.

β β β β β Nice atmosphere. But long wait gor our meals. Then when we got our meals the food was at a below average standard. Cold curly fries. Over cooked egg and meat patties for the burgers. Fish was over cooked buns were burnt. My wife ordered a cheese burger that came with no cheese. Friend ordered a burger with no pickles, but came out with pickles. A bit of care and pride, could easily fix these issues.

This Wellington or Auckland CBD type venue, very nice fit out and bar. Well worth a visit.
if you are in party mood, later at night it is also a night club, so , you might be there a while.

β β β β β The staff the food and the cocktails here are just amazing. Staff are so friendly and so quick to help and always on hand when you need them. The cocktails are just out of this world. Actual mixology with some molecular gastronomy... It's ART but you drink it. Just blew out minds. Definitely a must do if you want a real cocktail expert experience. Thanks so much everyone

β β β β β Frankβs has a great atmosphere and modern fit out. The menu is reasonably nice and the staff are friendly. However, the cocktails are really below average. Tried a margarita and could not taste any tequila in it at all, then tried a gin sour which again, had barely any alcohol in it and a very eggy flavour. Been back once or twice and had the same experience each time. Definitely wouldnβt recommend Frankβs if youβre looking for a good quality cocktail.

β β β β β Wow I really loved this place. Great atmosphere and STELLAR service. Coming from Sydney I wasn't sure what the cocktails would be like, but they were some of the best I've ever had. AND they even gave us a sampler Miami Vice for free. Yum
