There is a good range of board games though so apart from Scary Mclarey it's a decent store.

β β β β β Seems like a running theme..... the older fella is misanthropy personified. I try and support local businesses but when you get the impression that you're nothing more than a tedious inconvenience to them.... why bother.
Drove back home and 'spent large' online in the Waitangi Weekend (other NZ retailers) / Chinese New Year sales (Australian retailers), instead.

β β β β β The owner of the store has been putting up stickers and handing out leaflets promoting the far-right New Nation Party, which promotes conspiracy theories and whose website is full of racist dogwhistles.
I'm really upset that someone running what should be an inclusive and welcoming community for people to play games together is doing this.
I'm not going to support the store in future and would urge others to do the same.

β β β β β I was excited to check out a new (to me) game store. When I walked in I was surprised that the guy behind the counter gave me the evil eye when I entered with a mask on (he wasn't wearing one) and watched me as I walked around the store with the same nasty look the whole time I was there, then was difficult and obnoxious when I went to check out. I won't be going back there again, especially when you can get much better prices online without the attitude and the potential for catching covid.
