β β β β β In the name of "fairness for customers" apparently, they removed my prompt payment discount, right before winter, even though I was on a 24 month contract and my power rates were meant to be capped. All they did was sending me one email about it which went into junk mail. If I saw the email I would've changed provider instantly instead of paying ridiculous power bills for the past 3 months. You know what's funny? Not only my prompt payment discount is gone, they also automatically put me on a new plan which is more expensive than my old 24 month plan. My plan wasn't supposed to expire for another year. Such dishonest practise. Stay away!!! I'm advising my parents to move their power provider as well even though we had been long time customers.

β β β β β Unfortunately Genesis does not have an e-mail or platform for customers to communicate. They rely on Facebook messenger service which gives just blunt and dumb answers. It is a poor non-personal approach.
I have too many problems. A few;
Wrong street address taken. Why can't they check with council records. Power bill with the correct address is needed in NZ even to open a bank account, get a passport or driving licence.
I have two connections and two accounts. But I can visit only one account.
They do not send the bills via e-mail. It is disabled.
Some more, what why should I waste time for things I will not get an answer.

Bad deal for existing customers and really making it more expensive!

β β β β β Can't believe how you can run a company like this! We are trying to get some new connections, need give them my payment details for them to proceed, I have called many time, spent many many hours on the phone. Their new connections team has not come back to me after 2 weeks! Horrible!!!

β β β β β Worst energy retailer ever! I have been trying to get CTs sent to a switch board manufacturer for months now. They have long phone wait times and hardly answer emails. These delays are affecting our work flow. 100% would not recommend

After I got a wrong bill due to their wrong reading, I contacted them three times and explained again and again, which really exhausted me. And then I was told that I had a credit in my account and I can get refund. I did not think too much because I was their customer for a long time. However, after several days, I was told that they refund me in wrong and ask me to pay it back. When I tried to pay back, I found the account they provided me is wrong...And then I continuously got three harassing calls from them within 45 minutes to require me to return money.

Waiting time was of course , so bloody long , so I was told to leave my fone number and some one will call me with in 24 minutes .
Now it's 10.45 am . No body got back to me .
Everyone BLAIM on covid .
Short staffs.
Shortage of everything.
NO ONE CARES ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE ANYMORE .

β β β β β I am not genesis customer anymore and left them since October last year but still they are sending me invoices when all transactions are cleared and both LPG cylinders returned with confirmation and reported three times but not sorted by genesis. Worst company to deal with and stressing us with another invoice.
