★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only had good experience with Southern Cross. Easy to use, fast claim and compensation process. Most of the time I just do my claims online rarely need to call them, but when I call, they are very friendly and professional explaining everything to me clearly over the phone. Their pay out amount are not the most but definitely the fastest. I don't have any pre-existing conditions so never been turned down.

Called to update a policy, wanted to add a new one. Forwarded to sales, sales then told me to sign up to the new policy online. No option to add a new policy to my insurance...
Terrible website UX and staff giving misinformation.

They were knowledgeable about the available policies, explained billing processes clearly and in simple terms, and listened well. This was my first interaction with Southern Cross but all good so far.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would give them zero stars if I could. They make false promises to get your money & are slow with a poor customer service. I called them 3 times in one day to ask for their policy on a procedure & got 3 different answers every time. Wasted more than an hour on phone. Did my head in & i was extremely happy to cancel their policy.
They had the audacity to disagree with my GP on a claim.
When I cancelled this rip off insurance these guys kept charging my credit card. By chance when I went through my statements I called them fuming, but they couldn't find me in their broken system " yet they were still charging my credit card !!!!! "
Throughout this horrible ordeal, southern cross never called me once themselves. I had to contact them more than 15 times just to be rubbished every time.
Buyer be aware of Southern cross health insurance. They will do anything so that they don't have to pay out. Don't commit to them unless you can afford money & time to hire a lawyer who can support you in the time of need to challenge southern cross.
Just got through the 1 star reviews customers have put on Google.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve got to say, that unfortunately I have needed to make multiple claims for myself, wife and newborn recently and the claim process, timeframes for approvals and payouts have been phenomenal!
I recently switched my wife over to Southern Cross and my new son and I’m so glad I did!
I’ve been a member for years already and now we are all covered under the same plan.
A couple of claims have been declined, but nothing too significant luckily.
But overall very happy with Southern Cross and fully recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The customer service with southern cross is more a nightmare. As long you do not need them all is fine but as soon you need them it is more a Desaster. You need to wait 40 min on the phone sometimes also an employer scheme change is not easy like it should. Sometimes you are not able to claim any money back for weeks even you pay for that service
