★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good cheese, but as other reviews, the older lady made our experience of tasting and wanting a bit more about the cheeses quite unpleasant.
If am sure she is kind of a pain for the company, as we could have bought more cheese and advertise more about the shop if the lady was nice.

Tastings were available.
We bought a round of the Brie, oh my goodness it was delicious.
Will definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a nice quick stop here for the delicious Kapiti ice-cream, one of our favourite NZ varieties. You can also try samples and make purchases of perhaps 12-15 artisan cheeses on offer at the shop.
We ended up buying the Smoked Manuka that we enjoyed over the next few days of our travels. We also purchased a package of nice rice crackers that went well with a variety of spreads and other foods we picked up later on during our trip.
Talbot Forest Cheese ended up being a good stop for us. We'd be happy to stop by here again during future driving trips on South Island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lured by the friendly offerings of free cheese tasting, we entered this shop and were pleased to see they had Kapiti ice cream which was delicious! One staff member was friendly and helpful, however the other staff member seemed to have a permanent scowl on her face and when we asked for an extra spoon to share our ice cream we were told coldly "we normally only do one spoon per cup". Ruined our experience of this otherwise awesome store, what a shame :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We walked in and were only barely greeted by staff, before they completely ignored us as we discussed buying and tasting cheeses that were not readily available for tasting (non-cow ones - deer and goat). Pretty disappointed - we walked out empty handed because clearly staff weren't interested in our money. Perhaps we didn't look like the right kind of customer or something.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called in today and was very impressed with the selection of quality cheeses available here. The 11 Year Old Epicurean Cheddar is wonderful and Garlic & Chive Gouda full of flavour. Both have a wonderful texture. Well worth a visit.
