β β β β β We only used the laundry facilities ($3 each for washing and drying). The receptionist was helpful and friendly, and the hostel felt warm and well taken care of. Bring your own laundry powder - the $1 sachets of detergent that they sell aren't great (or very eco-friendly)

β β β β β Great price, very clean and tidy, fairly quiet. Well stocked kitchen, good sized TV lounge. The bed was a little soft for us (in our 40s) but that was the only thing. Mix of mainly young but families and oldies too. We'd stay there again

β β β β β Stayed here for the night with my daughter and was really impressed. Lovely warm, well appointed rooms, and clean bathroom. The lodge has a cosy, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Very quiet so we had a good sleep. Close to town and easy to find. Thank You

β β β β β Enjoyed the lodge. Had everything we needed and was in walking distance to the hot pools. The only downside was it was quite noisy and the walls were thin. Really lovely reception staff though and we'll equipped kitchens. There's only a bathroom at the end of the hall though so if you are down the other end it could be annoying. This is for the rooms with the shared bathroom. I would recommend this place to others though as it is very convenient and affordable.

β β β β β Great location we never used the car once during our 4 night stay, lovely hosts and lovely clean and tidy kitchen bathrooms and common areas. We will definitely be staying here again when visiting, also well priced.

Kakapo Lodge is simply the best place to stay in Hamner Springs.
Location from hot pools 300 metres.
Host ensured room was warm on arrival. Fire in foyer also very welcoming.
Kitchen and all facilities spotless.
Aesthetically pleasing.
Mountain views from bedroom and bathroom.
Will be back
