★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After an amazing 3 days in able Tasman this was not a good way to finish it off. I ordered the fish and chips, $29 must I add. I don’t mind paying for a good dish but this was outrageous. Fish was dry and the salad looked like it was thrown together by a toddler. I’m not one to complain to a waitress, but now have many regrets. Sadly was the only place open at the time but if I knew I would have held on and drive to another town. Do not recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food and great service. We dined here twice wilst based in Marahau walking the Able Tasman Track. They have a captive market as there isn't much else on offer, and places like that can often drop their standards in my experience. Not at Hooked though. The food was really good after a long day walk and the staff were all super friendly. Beautiful location overlooking the bay as well.

We had the small plate sampler which was a generous amount of food for two. They gave us bread instead of ceviche, but we ended up with the bread on the house which was very generous! The fresh baked bread was delicious, I’m glad we got to try it. Everything on the platter was tasty and would happily order again.
Staff are attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. Last table for dining is seated at 6:30pm.
So go in time for happy hour ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely fabulous casual dining 100% appropriate for its beach setting. Expertly made coffee, freshly baked scones, muffins and cakes as well as good dinner options. Very welcoming and competent service over the 3 days I was in Marahau. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent menu. Just a little different. The marinated raw fish was just as you would get it in the Islands. The spicy chicken nibbles were crackling good. The vegan salad looked amazing. Service was excellent, staff si pleasant. Toilets very nice and clean .
