★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a picnic after visiting Whatipu and walking one of the tracks out there. Nice area and popular too judging by the families making use of the open space, playing sports etc.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed a night in the carpark at the toilet and off the domain. It also has an outdoor cold shower, flush toilets & rubbish bins for a nice picnic experience.
There is a children’s playground, picnic tables & trees for shade. The beach is shallow for a long way out, for swimming.
It can be noisy at night, with people having gatherings & music. The boats go past at 5-6am too. Overall a nice place to stop

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is it!! Absolutely stunning. Great for a picnic and very kid friendly. The park is surrounded with a field and overlooks the most beautiful view. Toilets are always clean and plenty of parking! Would recommend 100%
