About Jack House Transit 1896 Ltd
In 1896, George Jack shifted his first building, in doing so founded the oldest building removal company still in operation in New Zealand today.
The Jack House Transit legacy was continued for a further 3 generations after George Jack passed the reigns onto his son Vic. Aaron Jack and his father Des were the last generations of Jack’s to be at the helm. Today Jack House Transit is proudly part of The Hutchinson Group.

The Hutchinson family have been involved with House Removal also dating back to the late 1800’s with a Hutchinson family member being involved in moving the Kihikihi Church through the streets to its current location it sits at today.
Skip forward a little more than a century, and a young Richard Hutchinson (Jack House Transit Managing Director) could be found demolishing a chimney with his mother Christine in preparation for the onsite shift of their family homestead.
We are proud to be able to carry on the JACK family legacy as part of The Hutchinson Group.
