★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful experience. Cafe on the island. Fascinating tour inside the mansion house, with loads of history. Gorgeous scenery on the mail run cruise with bbq lunch on board.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my second time visiting Kawau Island. The first time I visited was during the weekend and the cruise and the island was pretty busy but the second time I went during a week day and there was just a hand full of people! It was like your private Island. Perfect for a good picnic and plenty of spaces for the kids to run around. Couple of good walking tracks. The cafe in the island is closed so make sure you bring your own snacks. Never ever feed the peacocks on the island coz they will never leave ur side. Also just look where you place your mat, the birds seem to poop everywhere!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great lunch, our complements to the staff who prepared it for us on board the ferry and thanks to to the captain for his knowledge of Kawau Island.
What a day to go out with full sun and no rain in sight.
Cheers

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Please start recycling!!!! Lunch was great but the salad was served in individual plastic tubs which went into the rubbish with everything else including food scraps. Surely there is a better way or these can be reutilised can you provide food scrap and recycling bins on board also clean the windows so we can actually see outside

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a wonderful day. Mansion house is very interesting. Kawau island is beautiful. Robyn with the royal mail cruise is a lovely girl. Thank you Robyn for not making us scrub the decks when we lost our ticket ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked this Royal Mail Run cruise.
Full price is $88 plus $27 for a BBQ meal.
The booking staff were polite and said to be 30min early as parking was 15 min away.
Reached at 10am for the 10.30 departure. The parking was on a side street, with cars everywhere and a good walk to the Jetty( so if you have kids and picnic gear be aware)
The vessel is an older one, not a cruise type but as the name suggest Mail Run.
Cannot fault the staff on board. The lunch was a simple one( I think I will skip it if I go again).
The view is nice from the boat and the Mansion House island is lovely.
It will be a good choice to go directly to Mansion House and skip the bbq, as you get more time on the Island for all your activity’s as you will get only 2..5 hours if you want to return on the 2pm run.
It would be really good if there was a service leaving at 9 am so all could enjoy a bit more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful experience, dropped post and food for the residents, and spent the day walking swimming and adventuring on the island. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great cruise from Sandspit (North Auckland) to Kawau Island. Highlight of the cruise was going through the different bays as part of the mail run. Would recommend taking the later ferry home (usually at 4 or 4.30) so that you have plenty of time to explore the island.
