β β β β β We are a family on short vacay in Dunedin, stayed at this lovely place. Very close to the city, walking distance to tourist attractions and most of all safe even very late night Will be back here soon. Staff at FOH upon our arrival was very welcoming. Room service was excellent. Our flight back to Auckland was at 5pm, they let us leave our stuff safely whilst we are still finishing our last day tour. Kudos to you all ?

β β β β β Although the rooms are slightly older they are incredibly clean and large. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Had a relaxing and enjoyable break.

β β β β β If possible I would give this dump zero. Awful outdated decor from the seventies (the ceiling looks suspiciously like it is asbestos coating), there are literally no ceiling or wall lights in the living area only a beaten up standard lamp with the control knob missing plus the bedside lamp (x1). There is also obviously not enough parking for the number of rooms so expect to have to park miles away. The staff are off hand and it seems donβt care about guest concerns offering no suggestions to help. The place looks and feels more like a housing department tower block than a city hotel. I would not recommend this poor excuse for hotel to anyone.

β β β β β Staff are friendly, beds are comfy, good Views, rooms are VERY warm.... But ...
Walls are paper thin, up till 3am for 2 nights with young people partying up.
Hang your towels to dry as room servicing does not seem to be a daily thing.
Ok stay but wouldn't again as I like my sleep

β β β β β Last minute decision to stay at the hotel. Stayed in a standard family room, good bed, clean toilet, adequate amenities. All over a good room with a view. Had breakfast, pretty good too.

β β β β β As soon as I got in the lift, it Immediately reminded me of hotels in LA back in the year 2000. Clean and tidy, friendly staff but dated.
Limited car parking available.
Room was good, no air-con to cool the room down.
Overall, nothing bad, just dated, 3.5 stars.

β β β β β Everything there is old, not very modern. Some rooms have ceiling lights in rooms some don't. A bit further to walk to my destination than other hotels but manageable. Selection of coffee could be better and have always just had white sugar in my rooms and never enough as I am a big coffee drinker.

β β β β β Staff were very nice and welcoming. Property needs a bit of a refurbish. However, booked x2 rooms for one night with a great price. Beds were very comfortable. Ordered room service and got sticky date pudding- one of the best sticky date puddings Iβve ever had. Bathrooms are very clean.
Has the potential to be noisy with it being central and uni students being out an about- fortunate enough to not have stayed at Kingsgate at a time when all the students were partying.
Enjoyed our stay.
