About Kinloch Glamping

Amenities

Our spacious safari tent is a whopping 5 x 7metres, meaning we can fit a whole lot of comfort into your experience. We have designed our tent so that it can accommodate anywhere from 2 – 6 people, making it perfect for groups and families.

There are three rooms within the tent, two bedrooms with comfortable queen-sized beds, kitted out with quality linen and bedding. While in the living space a day bed converts into two singles, both with comfortable standard single sized mattresses, linen and bedding. The living space also accommodates a six-seater dining table, perfect for evening meals or a game of cards. For those cooler nights, we have installed a high-quality bio-fuel fireplace to keep you warm.

Step out onto the deck and you will find our upcycled outdoor kitchen, equipped with all your dining needs, as well as a Masport barbeque and gas fridge. Explore further still and take in our twin outdoor baths, with views that rival the main deck, this is an experience not to be missed. But if you’re after a quick shower, head to our bathroom block, where you will find it fully kitted out with shower, basin and separate toilet.

Attached to this block is the bike shed, ready to house your mountain bikes overnight, with hooks for storing your bikes, helmets, and gear, as well as tools for any maintenance required. You can find a hose in the carpark to clean your bikes if necessary. We‘ve endeavored to make our glamp easy and convenient for any guests wanting to take on the trails. And finally round out your evening by grabbing a bean bag and blanket, toasting some marshmallows over the outdoor fire and watch as the stars appear above you.

What to pack

Our glamp is a powerless sight, so be prepared to switch off and enjoy your surroundings.

But if electronics are essential, then make sure to pack a recharging device or use a car charger. Hot water is supplied to the showers, baths, and basin with gas, which also runs the barbeque and fridge. The kitchen is lit with a solar lighting system, you can find the switches on either end of the kitchen unit. For lighting inside and around the glamp, we have provided

battery-operated lanterns, there are hooks situated in each area to hang where required.

All bedding, linen, towels, and blankets are provided. As well as environmentally friendly toiletries, including body wash, hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, and soap.

The kitchen is fitted out with all utensils and equipment you will need to create wonderful meals. We provide breakfast items that include, bread, farm laid eggs from our own chickens, muesli, butter, peanut butter, vegemite, tea, coffee and farm-fresh milk (this is raw milk straight from our cows, meaning it hasn’t been pasteurized or homogenized. The farm operates under strict health and safety guidelines and we personally drink this milk year-round. However, if raw milk is not to your taste, be sure to bring your own). You will also need to bring any other food necessary for your stay. There is a small café and dairy in Kinloch where you can purchase the basics. However, we recommend a trip to the large supermarkets of Taupo before you arrive.

Children

We are a child and family-friendly glamp, however, our site has not been ‘child-proofed’ and we expect parents and caregivers to take responsibility for the care and safety of their children at all times while staying at the glamp. There is an outdoor and indoor fireplace, as well as two baths, which you will need to monitor your children around at all times. We are happy to supply a high chair and portable cot upon request.

Dogs

Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs or other pets at our glamp. As we are an operating farm, we must think first and foremost of the safety of our stock, and for that reason, we do not permit outside dogs onto our property. There will be no exceptions in this regard.

Beautifully designed tent on top of a hill overlooking lake Taupo and the mountains. Simple but stylish. Also has two bath tubs perfect to watch the sunset in. Highly recommended.

All i can say is “AMAZING” the only problem was “we could have stayed longer”☺️ Such a nice place to stay and relax, spend time with friends, family.. away from the hustle and bustle ? And the site is close to Kinloch Lake if you guys fancy a swim or some sun bathing. Love the outdoor tub, having wine while waiting for the sun to set was one of my favourite experience. We had barbecue and stayed around the fireplace outside chatting and playing games with friends before calling it a night. Wanna go back soon! Definitely a must to them ?
