★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a few years ago in winter time. I wanted to get across to Harris saddle but there were fears of avalanche on the section from the lake to Harris saddle but was blown away by the spectacular view i had of the lake!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I dropped off my heavier items at the routeburn flats Hut, and continued onward from there. The hike was very long, but worth every step. I estimate that I walked about 12 miles that day in total, and the lake was stunning in every sense of the word. By the time I returned it to the routeburn flats Hut it was dark, but I was very glad to have made the trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some amazing views of the scenery. An amazing climb / walk. We done it in one day from the glenorchy carpark (25km round trip) i would recommend staying the night in the cabins along the way.
