★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend Liberty restaurant. The food and wine were amazing! We all took the surprise menu option. There wasn’t a bad dish - I couldn’t fault anything. Service was excellent. I didn’t try dessert but it looked damn fine and the eaters agreed that it tasted as good as it looked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went here recently with a larger group. The booking process was easy, staff were lovely to deal with before and during the evening, and the restaurant is beautiful. We opted for the chef’s recommendations (take the liberty) and the amount and variety of food that was brought out was perfect for the size of our group including a great range of vegetarian options. The timing of food coming out was also perfect - it didn’t feel like we were waiting long or feeling rushed. It was unanimous that all the dishes were seriously delicious! Couldn’t recommend Liberty highly enough - thank you for a yummy meal and great experience. Will be back for date night soon :)

Arrived for brunch and we were meet by friendly front of house staff, seated with on fuss and given menu's.
Extremely good service, coffee was great and nicely presented.
Brunchmenu was awesome with each of us sampling a different dish.
Portion side was Excellent and flavourful.
Finished with coffee and left.
At no time did we feel pressure to vacate.
All in all a 10/10 for Liberty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the pleasure of eating at the newly opened Liberty last night! Great ambience and fantastic service. The menu is original and varied and the food was exemplary! The Bannock bread with black garlic butter was a great start whilst we tried several delicious wines. Just LOVED the grilled octopus and Korean fried chicken and the smoked lamb was sensational! Can't wait to go again and look forward to going there when the brunch starts up. Great place and I highly recommend it!

Where do I start ? Lots of options for vegetarians, interesting wine menu.
Food was delicious!
Black garlic butter was amazing . The burrata, white olive , Campari, mandarin dish was so refreshing and light.
The cheese puffs with goats cheese , phenomenal- chefs kiss from me .
And the ricotta gnocci had a secret added ingredient shaved on top which we clocked and loved ! It’s so nice to be interested by food and excited by food . I hope other people visit and you do well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you're looking for a restaurant for a nice meal, with good service, and a relaxed atmosphere, then check out Liberty. We had dinner for four here last night, the service was quietly efficient, no fuss, just good service, the menu was well explained, and the plates arrived in good time, not all together to fill the table, but nicely spaced apart to allow you to enjoy the food, and also time to just chat. The food, was really well constructed - not just the way the feature of the dish was cooked, including the accompaniments - but also from presentation and flavour perspective, some unique combinations.
Really well done to the team at this relatively new restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was just walking down Cuba looking for a bite to eat when I realised there was a new restaurant I hadn't noticed before, so of course I had to pop in and check it out. I had a fabulous time. The service was incredible - my waitress was incredibly friendly, kind, and attentive. The staff were very knowledgeable and able to talk me through the vegetarian options and recommend drinks. The food was stunning - I had the cheddar puffs to start - an indulgent, rich entree, and then the ricotta gnocchi as a main, which was a huge portion of delicious gnocchi in a tangy, flavourful sauce, with a generous garnish of fresh basil. The pine nuts incorporated into the dish added a stimulating texture that complemented the soft gnocchi excellently.
I also had a delicious Jameson-based cocktail called the Irish Maid that I loved. I was hoping to treat myself to dessert but the main was so huge I couldn't fit anything else in!
Overall, one of the best fine dining experiences I have enjoyed in Wellington, and definitely a new jewel of Cuba street. Once again, my compliments to the servers - their service was faultless. My waitress is definitely an asset to her team!
I think this is an excellent venue for an intimate date or a family dinner. I will hopefully be returning with a friend soon to treat her to a birthday dinner (if I can persuade her to let me pay!)
