Coffees are always a big let down, hot enough to drink the following morning ? The food is of good quality, just need to be more considerate of people's mouths.

Bit fishy. Ordered the smoked fish pie and noticed as soon as I smelled the inside that something was not quite right. I wasn’t able to find any smoked fish pieces in the first half, but did discover a few minuscule bits towards the end. I estimate they made up around 5% of the white sauce filling. So why then did it smell sweet and fishy? 95% fish free, yet smelling like a bottle of fish sauce! Could it be that they used fish sauce to disguise the lack of smoked fish? The pastry was good, had it been advertised as a fish sauce pie I’d give it 5 stars! Though I guess I wouldn’t buy a fish sauce pie in the first place because that’s disgusting. Maybe the same reason they don’t advertise it as a fish sauce pie. The question is, do the other pies contain what they say they do? This establishment advertise only using organic meat. I guess this adds to costs quite a bit so cost saving measures naturally follow. Still, ruining the entire pie to save a few dollars is reminiscent of cutting off ones nose to spite ones face. I love pies and the pasty is good. Just such a shame they’ve decided to cut corners. I’d happily pay 7 or 8 bucks for a great smoked fish pie. Oh and the man serving seemed nice and friendly. No complaints about anything other than this very strange cost saving decision. Use liquid smoke and 50 cents worth of hoki if you want to save costs. No one would notice! Actually I live down the road (with a smoker) and would happily smoke some fish for you. Maybe I’ll just smoke it for me and make my own pies. Still! Offer’s there if you’re interested :) EDIT ADDED so as to respond to MRK’s response below: Not offended by your question in the slightest! Quite possible that I saw this on the bakery next door who were closed. My apologies for the error. The fish sauce pie, on the other hand, most certainly came from your establishment. Being that I only mentioned the organic meat part to try and help justify why you would put fish sauce in a smoked fish pie, I’m a bit surprised that this is the detail you choose to focus on. Surely someone who doesn’t make up for 95% white sauce and 5% smoked fish by adding fish sauce, would reply: β€˜That’s disgusting! We would never do that! We take great pride in our smoked fish pie!’ Instead, you focus on a trivial detail which I offered in generosity, to try and make sense of your bizarre butchering of a classic pie. I’m 2 feet from the plate I ate the pie on and I can still smell fish sauce. If only we could add smells as well as photos!

One of great coffee Market/Get Sth Rd. intersection. Tiny cafe but great service mind and great food selection. Their coffee is blended well and fine made. Cabinet food selection are way above average than regular cafe cabinet food. Very good pies. They just had new pie recipe - nice pastry, delicious filling. Highly recommended! If you looked for fine morning breakfast experience, might need to search somewhere else. But if you looked for good food and great service, Market Road Kitchen is only 1 of 2 that we had been so far from 5 cafes around it. Staff: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Overall: 5/5
