The fish and chips shop epsom - Epsom

Never tried this local fish n chip shop, so thought id give them a shot. Food quality was very good ! Fish was fresh, chips were golden, and the burgers had premium buns & ingrediants. Highly recommend this store , I will be back !

Salt and pepper squid was very oily but fish and chips were pretty good. Get a quite a few burnt chips and fish is a bit oily.

Very rude lady on the phone, but good food. I called them to order chips, hoki and oysters in advance as I was on my way to their shop. I inquired about what the best deal with me. I also requested for a moderate amount of salting with my order. She grew impatient very quickly and after I had decided on my order and asked her how much my order would cost, she refused to calculate the cost of my order as she didn't want to "waste [her] time" and abruptly hung up on me. It was very rude of her to consider talking to a customer a waste of time, especially considering the fact that I was making a large order—that she should want for the sake of her business. When I got to the shop, the man at the counter (who I assume is her husband) told me things were okay, and I told him I was confused as to why she was so impatient. It then turned out she didn't even bother to inform him about the order details, let alone begin making my order. I had to go through each of the items I wanted to order with him again. I was willing to patiently wait a while for my order to be made, but what disappointed me was the attitude that the lady on the phone showed me and that she did not actually serve me by passing on my phone order details. I had already ordered from their Fish & Chip Shop several times and I am by no means a 'time-waster'. I understand that they may be busy, but that is still no excuse for them to talk to me that way and so abruptly hang up on a legitimate business inquiry. Furthermore, she should still have passed on my order details to him even if they couldn't start making the food right away, as I should expect that if I order through the phone and she had not told me she was not going to pass on my order. She did suggest to me, during the phone conversation, to come order in person, but I had told her I had made up my mind already and I listed to her everything I wanted. She did not make any indication during the call that she was refusing to take my phone order. If she was so insistent on getting me to order in person, she should have tole me that that was the only way I could order and made it clear that she would not take my order through the phone. Instead she did not do anything material about my order. On the food, the fish was crispy and nice. The chips and oysters were also of good taste. Thus, I have not given them a 1-star rating out of fairness.

Located @ next to corner shop of busy intersection. Courteous & polite staff. Quick order & cooking starts. 10min wait if order with salt/pepper squid. Tender fresh Hoki was fish of the day over a thin crisp batter. Squid was cook just right & a bite will separate it. Clean, bright & tidy ambience with 2 stainless steel table top for 4 dinner each side of shop.

Got fish and chips for my family, shop wasn't busy. Very expensive for what we got. Thin bits of fish that didn't seem very fresh, everything dripping oil and so greasy. Salt and pepper squid had no flavor. Horrible.

Not bad actually. $12.9 for this big combo is seriously good for money! Chips are nicely done. Fish crispy outside tender inside. Mainly for takeaway so unfortunately not a comfortable place to sit in and enjoy.

I got 1x meal for 2. 2xoysters 2x scallops 1x steak and egg burger and a drink $43.80 Price definitely WAS NOT worth the food. It was drenched in oil. Every single bite was full of oil? the scallop and oyster batter was really hard. The fish had really hard pieces of batter too. First and last time going here. The keri juice was probably the best thing here.

You can tell that this carry out specializes in good fish and chips, because we had a great meal from here, and one of the best from any fish and chips carry out in the Auckland area. I called in my order, and it was ready for me when I arrived 10 minutes later. The fish portions were large, moist, and tasty with really crispy batter. Our chips were very crispy and tasty, also, with none of the “usual” taste that you get from other places that don’t use fresh oil. I also got the half box of salt and pepper squid, and it was crispy and delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning here as many times as possible during our stay in the area, and I would definitely recommend it!
