★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at the Matamata Central Motel recently which was our second visit their and once again were warmly greeted on our arrival and our roon was extremely clean, warm and quiet with everything we needed for our stay..
Thanks again and we will see you next time we are in Matamata.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hosts were excellent! Very friendly. Great place to stay, with amenities to do your own cooking. Water pressure was great and wifi is free although a bit slow especially with the chromecast on the TV but overall a great place to stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our party of 5 adults booked 3 rooms for an over night stay. We arrived around 7pm. Having already prepaid on line when booking, we were surprised when the owner wanted a credit card deposit on our arrival to the value of one night accommodation for the three rooms we had already booked and paid for. We were neither convinced nor accepting of the reason for this request and offered instead a cash deposit that would be returned to us on checkout which the motelier still argued was less in favour of and insisting on the credit card detail.
Due to the hour and the reason for being in Matamata we felt forced to comply so we could deal with our more important issue. Our hosts were rude to say the least. We informed our family and friends including the ones who also stayed in two additional rooms, one being a family suite of the treatment we received. We were all in town for a family gathering, not the first time and not the last. None of of will stay with this motelier ever again.
I do not recommend this motelier to anyone. I have rated it one star because I couldn’t chose less.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spotlessly clean and very well laid out room. Kitchenette with microwave, kettle and utencils. Heatpumps made it very cosy and the shower was super! A short stroll from cafes etc. Very friendly staff.
