Didn’t buy a coffee here today but this five star review is for the kind staff members who allowed me to use their entrance to get into spring spa this morning. Thank you so much. Really friendly and were happy to help out. Thanks so much from me and the spring team

Perfect brunch location. Coffee was great. Meadow big breakfast was delicious and would satify the largest appetite. Service was friendly and attentive. We'll be back.

Terrible Service We were seated quickly and ordered straight away. The food came quickly and was ok. After we had finished our food, our drinks still had not arrived. I had to call someone over to ask if the order had gone through and said that given we had finished eating if they were not made could we cancel. She went away and checked and came back saying they were just putting the chocolate dusting on top. I felt it strange that she didn’t wait the 10 seconds to bring them to me. 5 mins later our lukewarm drinks arrived and were placed on the opposite side of our table out of arms reach without so much as a word from the server. It was busy and they obviously wanted our table so we finished quickly. When I went to pay, I was asked to pay at the take away counter, presumably so they could focus on incoming customers. Three servers seemed to be busy getting people seated and one was getting the drinks from behind the take away counter and taking them to tables. I stood waiting to pay at the take away counter for another 5 minutes. One of the servers (the one who asked me to pay at the take away counter) came behind the counter but still paid me no attention. It was only when I asked whether she would like to be paid for the food we had eaten that she said β€œoh sorry, sure”. I know it was busy (though not full) and masks make it hard to see peoples smiles. But I honestly felt like as customers we were just a massive inconvenience to the staff. There was no warmth and no customer service. Such a shame as it is a great location and I loved the previous restaurant. I won’t be returning to this Meadow location though.

First review ever but came here hoping I’d had bad luck and saw Amelia’s review from 3 weeks ago. I had the same experience with the asian salad (usually one of my favourites) so it seems nothing has changed since her feedback. Extremely bland, didn’t eat it, quite a waste at $26. I also went for dinner the night before and had the halloumi salad and it was similarly not good (had hoped it was a one off, maybe a sick chef). Menu said it had beets and candied walnuts - except it didn’t, just bland salad, plain walnuts and no discernible beets. Dressing was bland like the asian salad. Normally my two favourite salads and both were completely tasteless, would not reorder. Having eaten at the original Meadow many times and always had great food this was extremely underwhelming, not sure I’ll return and my excitement for the Glendowie one opening is now gone.

Very disappointed. They charged my mother $26 for a tiny 'Asian salad' from the cabinet. The salad was wasn't a proper meal and was put into a container meant for a pastry making it harder to eat. Further, either they forgot to add the sauce to the salad or their sauce was badly done as it was one of the most bland salads I've ever had. For $26 it was a absolute joke. Further their options are very limited if you are diary free or vegan. If you want something from the cabinet that isn't old fashioned and filled of egg or cheese then you have to get a 26 'asian salad'. There are no vegan options on the menu, you have to ask to get one of only vegetarian options that could be altered changed by removing the egg. Seriously need to change and alter to fit with the times. No need to be charging extreme amounts for a tiny cabinet salad.

This was the perfect location for brunch with friends. The food was amazing with each plate looking beautiful and excellent value for money. If you are looking for something lighter the pastries are exceptional. This is now a firm favourite for coffee, brunch or dinner. Great addition to St Heliers dining.

Lovely food, served quickly. Overall was let down by substandard service. Would be an easy 4+ stars overall, but we were left waiting 15 minutes before a drinks order was taken after quickly been shown to a table. We were 1 minute from leaving. And then service was uneven through the rest of the evening, with us having to get staff attention to take orders. Clearly a couple of servers short the evening we were there and would have been well served by acknowledging that when we arrived so expectations could be set. A wide selection of offer, although another salad offering would be good. Once ordered the meals were brought out quickly, were well presented and the pizza was excellent. Loved the side salad too. Recommend the mousse for desert. Generous portions. Reasonably priced. Looking forward to the new glendowie meadow when it’s open, hopefully they can sort out the uneven service.

Went in there today for coffee and a breakfast. I was told to find a table upstairs, waited 20 minutes for anyone to bother to take my order, and when the food arrived there wasn't a smile or a word said. My coffee hadn't even arrived when I had finished and was ready to go. Recommend avoiding the eggs Benedict - had what looked like last weeks rocket salad spread over it (yes really!). I've eaten at Meadow on St Johns Road dozens of times, so was really looking forward to trying this new outlet. I couldn't have been let down more.
