About Music Planet Wellington
In 1955 my father Neville started importing and selling instruments from Baldwin Piano & Organ Co. in the USA. The business grew and a couple of years later he became the agent for Thomas Organ Co. A fortunate opportunity for diversification presented itself in 1967 when Baldwin acquired Gretsch and Thomas became affiliated with Vox allowing him to enter the guitar, drum and instrument business.
I worked with Dad in his Greenlane store from 1973 to 1980 when I left to start a completely new venture in Takapuna (Mainline Music). This successfully grew to several stores which I sold in 2001. After focusing on importing and distributing Musical and Sound products for several years, the time seemed right to re-enter the retail scene and thus “Music Planet” was born. Neville’s goal was always the total satisfaction of his customers and we continue to strive for that today.
At Music Planet, we live and breathe music and are passionately dedicated to helping hobbyists, students and musicians succeed in their musical endeavours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would like to give a huge thanks to Sofia and Pete for their outstanding service and assistance. I went in to purchase my first digital piano with very limited knowledge. They went above and beyond to inform me of everything I needed to know and helped me choose the perfect piano.
Pete delivered my piano on the same day for free and spent an hour helping to set it up and show me all the settings. His genuine love of music and helping others has inspired me to commit to this new musical journey!
Highly recommend Music Planet over any other music store! Such a wonderful experience.

Gave me honest opinions and advice about everything, didn’t give me a hard push to buy anything or extras, gave me a good deal, and had awesome people skills. Both of the workers that day were absolutely brilliant and I’m happy to have given them my money. Cheers guys.
