Delays
- As a result of aircraft engineering issues, there are delays to some parcels sent by courier between the North and South Islands yesterday in both directions.
Delays to Mail Items:
- Due to precautionary maintenance on some of our electric mail buggies, delays of up to 2 days are expected for mail items across the country. These delays only impact mail delivered through our Paxster fleet – not Courier or Rural items.
- As our posties continue to deliver mail with a reduced fleet and through other means of transport, there is a small backlog forming. This will clear once the Paxsters are back up and running.
Delays to Parcels:
- We are experiencing delays of up to 2 days with parcel deliveries across much of the North Island, excluding Central and East Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington, and up to 3 days in the Waikato/Hamilton area as a result of ongoing high levels of absenteeism due to illness.
- We are experiencing delays for parcel delivery of up to 2 days across much of the South Island, excluding Nelson, Blenheim, Timaru and Ashburton.
We’re working hard to get all items to their destinations safely but apologise for the inconvenience caused by these delays.

β β β β β My package was marked as "delivered" and signed by the driver. The package was left by the letterbox next to the footpath. Luckily I went down to check. I was home at the time so the driver made no effort to even walk to the front door.

β β β β β The driver got the address mixed up and deliver the 'card to call' to the wrong address. I was at home waiting for the parcel to arrive so when I receive an email notification with the driver update saying the parcel couldn't be deliver I run to the road and see him (white Toyota van, asian driver) driving away. I spent an hour trying to reach someone to speak to from the New Plymouth or NZ branch (not an answering machine) to explain the situation. At the end, I managed to someone that escalate the case to Justin. He explained the driver went to my home address by looking at the GPS so he won't go back until Monday. He tried to speak to driver to get his side of the story but couldn't get hold of him. I'm in New Plymouth, 15 minutes from their depot store but the driver can't do the delivery even when I paid an overnight courier to get this item deliver on Friday since I need urgently for work. Courier Post (Justin) said my next option instead of waiting until Monday is to pick up the parcel MYSELF!
A very bad experience with New Plymouth Courier Post.

β β β β β Staff and service here friendly, efficient and very helpful. As with all courier companies these people are experiencing really hard times with the chaos being caused by covid border delays etc. It is said that if everything returned to normal right now it would take a year and a half to catch up. Spare a thought for these people if you encounter delivery problems They are doing their best

β β β β β I was out when the courier delivered, so they put card in letterbox. We went to pick up parcel from the depot the next morning before they closed. At the moment due to Covid regulations only 1 person is allowed in at a time but I didn't have to wait long. The lady at desk asked me to confirm my address and wanted I.d then she got my parcel. Happy as no issues and didn't take long at all

β β β β β The Driver for Waiwhakaiho is extremely negligent. Iβve clearly addressed my parcels with my business name on it and he continues to deliver mine and my co workers parcels to the WRONG business. Courier Post donβt respond and Iβve now lost money because my parcel was stolen from the business the courier wrongly delivered it to when my address and business was on it black and white clear as day!
Disappointed at how lazy this driver is.
