Delays
- As a result of aircraft engineering issues, there are delays to some parcels sent by courier between the North and South Islands yesterday in both directions.
Delays to Mail Items:
- Due to precautionary maintenance on some of our electric mail buggies, delays of up to 2 days are expected for mail items across the country. These delays only impact mail delivered through our Paxster fleet – not Courier or Rural items.
- As our posties continue to deliver mail with a reduced fleet and through other means of transport, there is a small backlog forming. This will clear once the Paxsters are back up and running.
Delays to Parcels:
- We are experiencing delays of up to 2 days with parcel deliveries across much of the North Island, excluding Central and East Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington, and up to 3 days in the Waikato/Hamilton area as a result of ongoing high levels of absenteeism due to illness.
- We are experiencing delays for parcel delivery of up to 2 days across much of the South Island, excluding Nelson, Blenheim, Timaru and Ashburton.
We’re working hard to get all items to their destinations safely but apologise for the inconvenience caused by these delays.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tall woman with short blonde hair at Marewa, Napier branch is extremely rude and arrogant! I witnessed her treating a customer with contempt for no good reason. Couldn't believe her attitude and another customer told her so. She didn't like it but it needed to be said. I didn't know the customer but I'm pleased someone stood up for her because this kind of "service" is appalling. The other staff are good, it's just this one woman (is she the manager others have complained about?) She is giving NZ Post a bad reputation and needs to be hauled over the coals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Am almost two years as a foregner in Napier town. Today I was very coldly received by a lady at the counter without even saying hi. I remained wondering whether it is my being black that I was given such an attention! Twice I have been coming here to be assisted to get my IRD number as instructed by the IRD customer care desk. First I was instructed to get a bank statement. Second, I came with all that was required only to be told to take them elsewhere and yet it was very late. At last a concerned attendant saw what was happenning and came to my aid only to tell me to go and take the documents to AA insurance for assistance. Is it only me treated this way here or there has been another person served the same way as me?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No pay wave, Hand sanitiser if you know to ask for it. Handling cash with bare hands then handling papers they give to you. When mentioned to woman on door duty - got told you let me worry about that. Then was told that maybe I would be more comfortable booking a courier - when I responded that was too expensive I got a shrug of the shoulders and told "You can't have it both ways" Under Level 2 of Covid 19, I think they have a bit of an obligation towards us, the mere customers
