★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trail through the forest. Good scenery, birds about in the trees. Climbs up to a view at the top with a bit of historic info, but nothing left to see of the historic buildings etc.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice forest walk for the 1st half with many small birds, 2nd half runs along side the forest and rolling paddocks until you reach the historic site. Walking time 30 to an hour return
Great walk to do at sunset if you're staying nearby

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing walk to a awesome pā site. Beautiful history with a little story at the top. 30 minute walk there , all up hill. Kids aged 4&5 did it with ease & in barefoot even. We stayed and played at the top until sunset. Beautiful walk definitely worth the hike up hill.
