Sam Cosgrove
Hi I am originally from Whangaparaoa, north of Auckland, and initially qualified as a nutritionist from Otago University. After working as a sports nutritionist with elite athletes, I decided to go back and study a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Otago University at their Christchurch campus.
Since then, I have lived and worked in Tauranga, completing hospital placements in medicine and paediatrics, and finishing a Post Graduate Diploma in Child Health with credit in 2020. I am now on the GP training scheme as a GP registrar.
In my spare time I surf, hike, and spend time with family. I am also attending night courses in Te Reo Maori each week.

Doctor’s here are unhelpful, we’ve asked for a referral for an X-ray for both times as my partner has had scoliosis surgery 10 years ago and wanted to check changes. Both doctor’s have refused saying “it’s a waste of time”. Were wondering if they even know what Scoliosis is. Coming here was a waste of time. Never coming back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They used to be good but they are not anymore.. Receptionist are always rude to talk and response. Go there for your appointment, average wait time, at least 15 to 30 minutes which is okay...but if you are even 2,3 minutes late, they told you that you are late and need to rebook another appointment and we are fully booked for next few days...Very very disappointed. :'(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely rude receptionists and it's really hard to get an appointment- you have to book at least a week in advance. I'm thinking understaffed? Taking on more clients than they can handle maybe? Anyway, their customer service is the main reason you shouldn't join this clinic. They are really short witted, and unhelpful. I just feel like a pain in their neck when I call and have been brushed off multiple times now. Come on guys up your game! I'm definitely switching clinics after the experience I've had. Don't go here!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a patient at Papamoa Pines for sixteen years and Dr Anele was my doctor. She is the best doctor ever. Unfortunately I had to move away from Papamoa and I really miss her and all the other doctors, nurses and the receptionists. I think it's the best medical practice ever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely Disgusted. The reception staff insulted my freedom of choice and acted in a complete unprofessional and discriminatory response towards my disability. The staff also insulted me by making up false accusations saying that I was rude and swearing at them.
Upon leaving, we were targeted, insulted and the staff worker who made the accusation wouldn’t come forward. This medical centre shows nothing but unprofessionalism and my family and I will definitely be switching.
