★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dreadful experience at this shop with aggressive shop owner. Waited over 20 minutes to get served at the post counter. There were 4 staff members in the shop and only one person serving the post area. During my wait the owner was in and out from the back, seeing the long line continue to build while two other shop assistants stood around doing nothing. When I eventually made it to the front, the shop owner finally came from the back and was beyond rude. He clearly knew the line had been long and he rudely told me that my package did not have enough detail. (I had been cautious about what I wrote as it was a 50th birthday gift for my sister and I wanted some aspect of surprise). I explained I had waited a long time and did not want to lose my place in the line while I added the detail he wanted (it would take 5 seconds max). He told me he was sick of being told what people would do in his shop after I offered to write in an extra word. Clearly I am not the first person he has been rude to or had run ins with (see other reviews) as in his words 'he is sick of it' - what is the common factor here???!!!. I found him aggressive and threatening in his demeanour and wish I had walked out. I have often come here to buy gift vouchers and other bits, but will never enter this shop again. Silverdale mall has a bookshop that is better stocked and much more friendly. Book depository is a much cheaper option still. I will take any postal needs to Silverdale or Whangaparaoa where I know it is much more efficient and the servers pleasant and helpful. Any stationary needs are cheaper from The Warehouse in Silverdale. Silverdale mall has a great new shop for NZ gifts and souvenirs. What a disgrace, hideous shop! I will never chose this place over the other options again. My first ever review, but this was such a terrible experience that I feel I have to warn others.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's interesting to note that a review I wrote in July 2021 has been removed, both from this site and the Post Shop site. Needless to say, the review was not positive and highlighted the extreme rudeness of staff, one woman in particular. I have complained to NZ Post, no satisfactory resolution however.
