About Plymouth International

A bit about us

If you're thinking of visiting, you probably have some questions. You already know the formal stuff – that we’re New Plymouth’s largest independently owned hotel, conference facility and events centre and the only 4-Star Qualmark hotel in town. That The Orangery has been rated New Plymouth's best restaurant on Tripadvisor for the past year and that we won a Silver Sustainable Tourism Business award.

You might have heard about our great location. We’re set between New Plymouth’s two major one-way systems – so driving across town in either direction is super-easy. Our beloved Coastal Walkway is a short stroll from our front desk and great swimming at East End Beach is less than five minutes from there, the CBD (where you can shop, eat and visit the Len Lye Centre and Puke Ariki museum)  is 750 metres away and you can jump in the car and be at Fitzroy Beach’s world-class surf break in five minutes.

The location is great and the staff is very helpful. However the rooms are very old, bathroom extremely old. Doors and windows are not sound proof so you can hear vehicles all night and can also hear people in the lobby which was annoying. But staff is really friendly.

We were lucky enough to get a refurbished room, it was lovely and quiet with everything we needed. The staff were lovely, especially Tim in the restaurant. It was close to whatever we needed in town, Countdown, McDonald's, Chemist Warehouse etc. Would definitely recommend :)

Air conditioner didn't blow cold air so had to sleep with the windows and curtains open. The fridge was very noisy and had to turn it off at night. Otherwise the room was spacious and the staff were friendly. Room service was reasonable. Restaurant was very good.

This hotel is great value for money if you're traveling with a big family and literally need somewhere to drop your bags and go (there for an event). We stayed in adjoining rooms with our kids so it didn't feel cramped in any way and we were facing the pool as well. It's not the newest hotel in the strip but still a good hotel nonetheless. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Spacious comfortable, clean, room. Bed was firm, shower had good pressure & was huge. Staff were helpful & accommodating. Bonus was the gym, basic, but served our needs. Very good value for the money taking everything into consideration
