Poppies Martinborough draws on traditional winemaking techniques, with a deep respect for the past, ensuring the hand-crafted wine is never fashionable but always adored. When young, our wines are fresh, vibrant and pure however with time the true essence unfolds to giving more subtle, sophisticated and intriguing characters; be patient and you shall be rewarded
The view is strong that we are simply caretakers of the land, from this we farm our vineyards with a minimalist approach in respecting the power Mother Nature possesses, never interfering, more allowing her strength to direct.
A personal love of the biological and organic approach to farming is preferred, although not certified within a commercial footprint we are cautious and respectful utilising science, technology and understanding the past. We live through our land for our wines.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great lunch here. They offer just one option, a platter, but it was excellent. It included a wine tasting while we waited for the food to come out, which helped us choose the wines we wanted with lunch. Most tables are beside the vines creating great ambience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve heard many good things about Poppies over the years so finally booked a table for myself. It was definitely worth it. The location is a short drive out of Martinborough and the setting is really tranquil. We did the wine tasting before our lunch and that helped us decide what wine to order with our meal. We ordered the platter which has a selection of breads, meats, relishes, cheese and more. Everything is perfectly paired and absolutely delicious. A definite must if you are visiting the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be careful !!! When you go to POPPIES winery and would like to book a table you must be dressed up! If not, you probably will just be invited for wine tasting only at their tasting counter and not allowed at table.
I went many times at this winery in past and never had any problem . But my last visit on 10 Jan 2022 was very uncomfortable. The winery was empty and the receptionist look at me and said "no table available " everything is book out.
So, my experience was terrible, and the staff at reception was very unfriendly and accommodating.
My advice: go to the next winery @moy hall: Good price, great food and excellent service ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Almost missed an opportunity to try this place out, someone canceled their table so we got a call from a lovely staff a day before and we drove up to Martinborough, the weather was amazing and everyone was so friendly. The tasting platter for 2 was only $48, the wine tasting is included for 2 people. They were all so very good and we cannot wait to go back here. Ended up buying a bottle of red
