β β β β β Ohakune is a great place to base yourself for a few days, but I'd find other accommodation. The bins were never emptied and smelled bad for at least a week. Some of the units (not all) do not have a sink for washing dishes, so it's wash your dishes and everything else in the bathroom. Not ideal.

β β β β β The PSA Chalets are just not fit for purpose for families. There is no sink in the kitchenette which is also the living room and kids bedroom (have to do washing up in shower room). So when the kids go to bed, so do you as there is no outside seating area. Perfectly fine for a couple that is only planning on using the room for light breakfasts and sleeping, but unsuitable for 3 or 4. The rooms are tiny but in decent shape and reasonably clean. There is no storage whatsoever, except a clothes rail (bring hangers!) no chests of drawers and nowhere to even put a suitcase down, so hand luggage only people!

β β β β β Nice views and close to town. We were not provided with vacuum cleaner though (as guests are required to clean the unit afterwards). Spa pool add-on service is cheap. Parking area is a bit condensed though.

β β β β β Lovely hotel. Friendly welcoming lady on reception. Unit 15 family unit is by far the best, upstairs and has your own little front area where you can sit. Laundry facilities are old but useful and the spa is lovely especially after a cold day.

β β β β β Basic motel room. It was exceptionally clean and a lot of furnishings seemed near new. Bed was very comfortable and the room fridge was very quiet! Great views of Ruapehu from the room and balcony outside. Overall very good value.
